I would
1) make sure your batter is good, and is full with water
2) check your ground.
3) wait for Bear4570 to respond, he has one and know everything about the 250 ATV's.

just like catterman said...if all is good, chances are that its the voltage regulator. mine did the same thing on my 99 300. $80.00 is what it cost. id check it first though before spending 80 dollars for nothing
