650 v2 oil problems

You check the level with the dipstick screwed in or not. The oil is in the filter.

It's best with the V2's not to fill it up to the "full" mark on the dipstick. Keep it to about 2/3's up. If you fill it all the way, and at some point you tip it on it's side, you'll have oil in your airbox. I read about that happening, and then sure enough, it happened to me after I went on my side in a mud hole. Doesn't hurt anything, just a little messy.
If, when you went for your ride, it was the first time that you ran the motor after filling it with oil, then it's normal for it to be lower on the dipstick afterwards. Just add a little bit more oil and you should be fine.

I always have to add a little more than 2 quarts to make it about 3/4 up the dipstick. I run it there all the time with no problems.

hey boys overfilled my 2006 tony stewart by a 1/8 quart went for a ride it shot the oil out my air box then it started to go faster at the start it would only hit 50 mph then it hit about 65 mph i run a clutch kit with a dynatec box it acutally lost 5 mph with the box by way beterr torque to pull the 28 muddzillas onle hassel i have is dirt gets in the choke plucher on the back carb so i siliconed every part of the choke cable hope that fixes the problem

Hi i just changed the oil in my 05 v2 and i put just a hair under 2 quarts in and the dipstick was fine right off before i ran it, then i went for a short ride and let it sit for 2 hours and its not even half way up the dipstick the manual says 1.85qt whats up? its not leaking. when i got it from the dealer it was at the full mark.?? leave it or fill it up the rest of the way?

Thanks for the info guys, you guys think 2 quarts will be fine or get another quart and add to 3/4s of the crosshatched area like said above.
