Bad, corroded or dirty connection at the fuse in the fuse box or at the solenoid terminal from the battery or the plug under front plastic below the insturment head. It should be 12 volts or whatever the battery is at.

Hoping you can help with this one! I lose power to the red wire in the ignition switch when the key is turned on. When the key is off it is at 8.5 volts. I can send a direct 12v line from the battery to the red and the machine runs perfect. should the red wire have 12v or 8.5? what would cause the red to die when I turn on the key allowing power to flow to the orange?
