My two questions on how he did it are; Why remove both ball joints from the knuckle, when one is all you have to take loose to get the outboard end of the axle out? Then why not just remove the retaining ring with the inboard axle end CV and just disassemble the CV that way? Saves pounding on the drive parts, which is always a bad thing. I know this works, because that's how I have done it twice so far.

I might say "Don't force it, get a bigger hammer!" but everytime I have ever followed that advise I broke something and it was always the expensive piece, never the 25 cent part.

Yah good point, I have never tried it. Only thing I did was replace two broken axles in three years, and then pull all of my axles out and put in the gorillas. I have never tryed, or needed to, change my boots.

Hi Folks. Thanks for all the great posts here. I have learned quite a bit and last night even tackled a front inner CV boot on my V2 650, replaced in less then 1 hour. Thanks to whoever posted last week about how to do it. And then of course the great links to the web site with pictures and FANTASTIC instructions. But I now am more interested then ever to start fixing my own atv's. What I am looking for is a repair manual for a AC 05 v2 650, AC 06 500 TRV, AC 06 700. What I am looking for are the CD repair manuals. If you have one and are willing to make a copy I would really appreciate it, willing to pay your time and supplies. I have been looking on eBay and see several listed but never what I need. Any ways THANKS for your time and really appreciate this valuable site.
