the ping you are hearing when you hit the water is just more then likely cold water hitting a hot exhaust. i dunno bout the whine you hear in low range but alot of times a person gets peranoid over a little noise when it is nothing.

That plug doesnt need to come out. Also, the rear diff should be right at the threads, or 8.5 oz. The front should be at 1 inch below the threads, or 9.3 oz. I would switch all the oil to Amsoil synthetic. 80-90 in the front and rear diffs, and 0-40 fourstroke amsoil in crankcase. Its very simple, and well worth the quality. Ther isnt a spark arrester on these ones.

Well first off, recently when ive went mudding ive heard a ting sound when i hit the water, i duno if its the tires kicking up rocks or the hooks on my tow rope banging on the rack or what. theres no problems afterwards when im out of the mud i can still go 70 with no problem and no noise.
My other noise seems to come from the left side and is probably engine noise, but is only in L and its not the whine.
Elsewhere, i am wondering first is there a spark arrester? and if there is where is it at? is it that plug thing on the exhaust?
How much oil should there be in the differential, i checked the back and had to stick my pinky all the way to the bottom to get any on it, and it was just on the tip of my pinky, not sure where the front is but im going to look and how much should be in there? also it was like a muddy color the stuff in the back, should it be?
Thanks for any help.
