I have a 2000 500A. I bought it used a few years ago, and it has always had a backfire problem. I assume that means it is to rich. Has anyone in my area or at my sea level tried other jets? Where should I start?

Backfire on deceleration means too lean on the idle circuit. Turn the pilot screw out a 1/4 turn at a time, with a test ride in between each adjustment. Go no more than 3/4 turn. BTW, the backfire hurts nothing, and I opted for the optimum idle adjustment rather than worry about a meaningless backfire.

Hello bear i was planning on riding this weekend, but we had thunder strom's and i didn't get to go. Between this heat spell's and thunder strorms's i'm still just short of 150 miles on my 06' 400 Auto fis ! The last ride i took i got caught in one big strom with lightling very close and had to end the ride early. This was back on memorial day, and on the way home i blew the Transmission pump Seal on my truck, so i've only been able to ride some small trails next to my home, i hope you're getting to ride more than me ! The only backfire i have on my ac is when i shut it off, and it's just a small pop more like a beltch i like my ac and hope i can go for a long ride soon ! And Bear i'm keeping my 400 stock, no moding what so ever i like it the way it came off the show room floor ! Well i just whated to say howdy too the Bear and all on the formums..........Have a good time and be safe out there, i know you will Bear; but i want everyone else to be safe.................williebee !
