V2 rider, just curious, did you check your belt deflection, and if so what did it measure? My guess is that you had a nice tight belt from the factory. I have tightened mine a small amount 2 times, and like you, have almost no belt wear at 1200 miles. Slow trail riding is always in low, as well as mudding. Works well.

Yes, tightening the belt is kind of a pain, especially the first time. If you deflection is measured accurately at an inch, though, you're still in pretty good shape. Deflection should be between 22 and 27 mm, although the guys that have had these machines for a few years seem to think that there is a significant benefit to keeping it on the low end of the specs. But your belt is wearing fine, so that's all that matters.

Just to point out the advantages of listening to peers and driving these in low as much as possible, i have 900 miles on this belt, and took the cover off for an inspection. I was amazed that when i measured, and compared it to my new belt, (which i was sure i would be installing) it was like brand new still! No joke, and no exaggeration. It was the exact width, and thickness, and absolutley no signs of cracking, or wear anywere on it. It was still new! Im very pleased, and have to give alot of credit to people who push the issue of driving these in low whenever possible. Thanks!!

My belt deflection was about 1 inch. I havnt tightened my belt ever yet. It looks difficult! Ive never seen it done, but i have instructions on doing it. I hope to get a couple thousand miles on this belt, and so far, it seems like i will
