Change the spark plug before you do anything else. If that doesn't solve the problem then you need a spark tester to see how hot your spark is, should jump a gap of about 1/2". Then start chasing ignotion components. There are a bunch of voltage and ohms checks to check the different components, the charge coil, trigger coil, CDI box and ignition coil.

Sure sounds like its a fuel related issue. If it happens at a specific throttle position, then for sure its carb. Theres no feedback to the computer for throttle position, on this motor.
If you have the choke on 1/2 or 3/4, does the problem go away or improve?

my 2000ac 2x2 spits and sputers all the time in high range low range and reverse. ive cleaned the carb cleaned the fuel filter drained the gas and used hi grade gass, and even tried adjusting the mixture screw on the carb, im know non of that is wrong does anybody know any electrial problems that might occor ignition boxes or things like that that would effect the sputtering it misses bad. engin good compression good and motor only has about 30 hours on it i had new rings and gaskets installed just because my grandpa let it set for so long any sugestions
