The auto won't take 4 quarts. It is somewhere around 2. I'm changing oil on mine this week, so I'll let you know how many it takes.

It take about 4 quarts, but you need to recheck the level after you run the engine and fill the filter has been filled.

The oil change kits come with a gallon in them and all it says is "All 375/400/454/500 Models". Nothing about auto or manual tranny.

I just bought that expensive synthetic oil change kit from Arctic Cat. I dumped all of the oil in the case, 4 quarts I think, filled it right up to the full mark.

I just checked my service manual, it says to put in 3.5L or 3.7 US qts. So do the whole thing, a little more oil won't hurt anything.

Hi,

I have a 2004 400 AC 4X4 (ACT,auto). Does anyone know the volumetric capacity of the crankcase? I can't seem to find this spec anywhere. Thanks.

Thanks for the data. Time to change the oil now.
