The fan kicks in at a certain temp, if you are moving forward at xx mph there is enough air to cool the radiator if not the fan will come on to prevent over heating.

I wouldn't worry about it there are 100's of 650 with those boxes on them and we have not come across a problem with engine temp.

well one thing you gotta look at to i see you have a winch and that covers up half the radiator so the fan will run alot more then if you didn't have the winch in there. mine actually seems to run cooler with the cdi in it but the fan still runs plenty.

have been running new dyna tech-cdi and it seem's to be running hotter than before.every time i stop now i have to let the fan run to cool it down for 5-min. any reason why!

not to be smart ,but i now when you are running it should be cooler ,but i notice that the fan runs going down the road at 40mph.it never did that before.just thought maybe the cdi was giving a false reading on temp sensor?the only other thing i did was replace the plugs with the same type as came with it.
