the lil lever you trip to pull the seat off hold that back and slip it on and then let go of the lil lever. if you look at the way they are positioned when the seat is off they lean way forward.

how much are they charging you to install the winch? it only takes me about an hour maybe a lil less to install it. it is pretty easy the owners manual comes with a rough wire schematic which does the trick it takes the longest just to run the wires where they won't rub on any sharp corners or on the motor.

CAN YOU CUT A BIT OF THE NUBS SO THEY FIT INTO THE SLOTS. THE NUBS ON MY MACHINE ARE PLASTIC SO I AM ASSUMING YOURS ARE AS WELL. MAYBE CAN GRIND THEM DOWN OR INCREASE THE SIZE OF THE SLOTS THE NUBS GO INTO.
GOOD LUCK

Hey, you know the old saying,,,it's always fun to kick a guy when he's down.

I bought a barely used '03' AC 400i (134 miles), and it's awesome - except for one thing. The seat is a holy pain in the ass to put back on...The previous owner warned me of this feature, but I had no idea how bad it was until I tried to put it back on myself. The two times I took it off, I spent nearly 20-minutes each time trying to get it back on. It looks like the rectangular nubs that slide into the front slots are a bit chewed up. It takes a great deal of force to get this seat on, (I literally have to punch it on). Anyone else with this issue? Fix? Thanks.

Yeah, i tried that. My AC friends were stumped as well, as their seats just slide right on. This one has the lever behind the fender. In any case, I think it's the nubs up front. My theory is that the previous owner didn't install the seat properly and rode it. I'm dropping it off at my local AC dealer to have a winch kit installed and will have him take a look at it - perhaps he's run into it before.

$40-bucks and it's worth it for me....I looked at the manual and though it looks fairly straight-forward, it's a time thing...

No, because that would have made sense... My moron settings must have been set on high Saturday... Never thought of it.
