Secondary spring. Helps backshifting and belt grip. The primary spring controls engine RPM and engagement RPM.

A stiffer primary spring wil help increase belt life as well.

If you take a shim out of your secondary clutch you will be all set, your belt is still loose if the dealer didn't take the shim out and you will still smoke your belt, even in low.Tighten it and you can expect over 2000 miles with this belt, even with stock clutch springs,I did so I know it can be done. For info on this and everything else Arctic Cat go to arcticchat.com.
WOW,$60 to install the belt!!!!! That is like a half hour job dude.Go to the site I mentioned and kiss your dealer goodbye.

I had to replace my belt on my 650 at 100 hours. We didn't learn to use low, for most slower trips and burnt the belt. It cost me $70 for the belt and $60 to have it installed. The dealer also installed the free upgrade kit for the limp mode and gromments on the exhaust. I had to pay to have my speedometer repaired. It seeme that a stick broke it while riding in the brush, $68 plus install.
