I swapped out the stock 27 watters for 38 watt bulbs, no problems. Bulb #893.

I have an 2002 AC 500i-auto and did upgrade its factory high beam 27w with 50w (???) bulbs. Bulbs from my local automotive store. I left the factory low beam bulbs as 27w. I've done night righting 4 different times, for up to 4 hours straight each ride, and the upgraded high beam bulbs worked great.
In the long run, not too sure of the outcome. Re: battery over drain or light casing melt down. But our upgraded high beam bulbs are running great so far.....

I've seen several posts about folks swapping out the stock 27w bulbs with 50-55w bulbs. Anyone done this and had them in for an extended period of time? Issues? I worry about the plastic with the heat, and the wiring...

upgraded to 35 w bulbs on low beam & 50 W bulbs on high!
