For a mud tire that won't totally kill you everywhere else, I really have liked my Tri/Bi Claws. There are pictures of them on both my 660 and my old Arctic Cat 500 in my yahoo photos. 27" are about the norm it seems, though you can probably fit a 28" tire of some brand or another under a 500i.

A friend of mine is looking to buy some mud tires for a 04 AC 500 Automatic 4X4, he wants to go to a bigger tire and more aggressive but not too expensive. Whats the biggest you can go on that machine? I was thinking about recommending Mud bugs, Gators or Outlaws to him. What do you guys suggest?

Kenda Executioners

I have a 05' 400 Cat. I went with the Kenda's Executioner's. I kept my stock tire sizes, since I wanted to keep my power curve the same. They are a very aggressive mud tire (which I needed for duck/goose hunting in the Texas rice fields) and they ride smooth on hard pack. Best thing is they only cost me $209 for all four. It's worth a look.

ive got a 02 ac 500i and i have no problems with my 27'' 589's on itp c-series aluminum rims. (27x9x12,and 27x11x27)when i bought my rims tires i called itp and asked about the weight of both the rims and tires and if im not mistaken it added about 42 lbs to my bike and it only boggs down up steep hills. drops about 6-7 mph. in all else there great tires in the mud and snow and have no complaints. also id have no problem getting 28's on it.
