There is a seperate lever on the right side just below the gas tank. You shift to neutral and pull the lever back. That's all that's required. Then lever foward and you get neutral again. You can't be in reverse and any forward gear at the same time. There is also a reverse light right next to the neutral light on the insturment pod.

If you are man enough to break it, then Arnold is a wimp. It is a fairly husky metal lever and cable setup. It also doesn't take much effort to pull it into reverse. It is a Suzuki engine and trans so it would make sense that it is like theirs.

HOW DO YOU ENGAGE REVERS ON THE arctic cat 250 (2004) im lookin to buy one but i wanna compare cetain things... i love honda way,,, on the brake, but dilike yamaha and suzuki's revers.

thanks its very similar to suzuki then.... i dont doubt its not good but im worried pulling it to hard.

Not quite,you push the red button then pull the brake lever and then shift into reverse.Not that I'm into honduhs.I do agree that its a dumb idea.

I like the way the 250 R lever is. I think one's like the Honda are quite dumb. Ya gotta pull the brake lever, push the red button and squeze another lever and then shif into R.
