Should be just about 2quarts, 11 ozs. with filter change. V-Twins take awhile for all the oil to return back down for an accurate reading. Change it with engine " hot " and check level with engine " cold ", like next morning for the most accurate reading.

Different subject but it might help. I use a large syringe from a feed store with about a 10" hose attached for topping off the coolant overflow bottle. Makes it much easier !

I just did my first oil change, I couldn't find the capacity listed anywhere in my manual (why don't manufacturers use the word "capacities", they use things like "fluid level"...boneheads) but when it was all said and done it looks like 2.5 quarts with the filter. I guess I'm looking for someone to say "yeah, same here!" I checked it with the DS screwed all the way in as it says in the manual and it is right on the "H". Thanks

I did a search and found information from Dec 03 so I figured I'd ask again but I'm getting the same info I already read. How many quart is 2.05 litres? Like I said in the beginning I put in 2.5 quarts with filter change and it is right at "H" on the dipstick (DS has a H for high and L for low...I guess?) I'll keep looking for 100% accurate info and await responses.

Yeah I found 2.5 quarts to be a little much, but not very. I checked it as you described, cold after sitting overnight and it read a tad over the "H" , so I used my handy, dandy pump for filling the lower unit on my boat and pumped out about 4-6 Oz now it reads fine. I'm kind of baffled by the lack of responses to this post! I guess nobody really knows or nobody changes the oil, I would hope it is the first one
