In 01, they had a hydraulic footbrake on the automatic I think, and it was crap too. So they went back to the mechanical again after that. Don't know about the new one yet of course. Hopefully it works, cause AC has never had a footbrake that was worth a crap.

I was looking at an 05 model AC 500 and I noticed that they changed the rear foot pedal brake from a mechanical brake to one actuated by its own master cylinder bolted to the frame.
My questions are one, does anyone know if this new version works any better (or should I say works at all) than the older mechanical brake lever on the previous models?
Second question is if it does work does work, can it be installed on older models like an 03 model?
