I was pulling out a Honda 450 Foreman out of a mudhole today and I had it in 4low and gave the Cat some gas and a funny stripped gear sound was comeing out of the front diff. Now I have no 4 wheel drive with some rattleing sound in the front diff and it sounds like pulling off suction cups in reverse. Any ideas before I take it to the shop ??

Thanks for the replies. I'm going to take it to the shop tomorrow. I bought it used but, transfered the 2yr warranty over to me so that should take care of it. I'll post what i find out.

Make sure the 2x4/4x4 linkage is adjusted correctly, it's a "face spline" on the pinion that engages the 4x4, it could make that noise. It's not to hard to pull the dif out, just takes some time. If the diff is bad let me know, I have a slighly used one that I might let go of.

ouch that sux man but if you are mechanically inclined whatsoever it isn't that hard to take out the front diff (pending you don't have warranty) and then just bringing the front diff into the shop for this will save you alot of money for labor costs cause it doesn't take long to strip the front diff down i did it along time ago but would have to do it again to walk ya through but it is pretty simple just to take it out just a lil bit of time spent
