Did you check all of the fuses.Even the one underneath by the carb?

Check the cdi fuse.It is located slightly behind the carbs on the right side of the machine as you sit on it.It should be covered by a plastic cover.

That does sound like a bad Battery. I had the same thing on a manual tranny Nissan happen and it acted similiarly.

I was under the impression that this bike had an ADI or CDI ignition and neither one needs the battery to make spark. The battery runs the starter and idiot lights, etc but not the ignition.

Has anyone had any trouble with the 04 auto 500 quiting? I was riding and when I turned it off it would not start back. The dealer said it was a bad battery but I am not so sure.

No, I havent done anything except put a battery on it. I am going to check to see if it might be the alternator. When I started it with the pull cord it ran for a little while, then when I would hit my brakes it would shut off, and my led screen would go blank.
