i thought it sucked also so i took it off and cut the heal kicker off with a hacksaw and then turned it up a notch or two when i put it back on and now it shifts great.
just like my dirt bike.

You gotta atleast give the rocker a month. I went from a honda trx300fw to my 500. The rocker shifter was a pain in the ass for a little while but now I hate the honda. Upshifting with the heel down shifting with the toe is awesome. Plus its the same thing a harley has. but i guess its all personal preference, as long as your riding a cat its all good

I love the bike and Im sure I could get used to it but switching back and forth from the other bikes would be a pain in the but. Ill check into it. Thanks guys

If you look at the Arctic Cat accessory book you will see that you can buy a standard shifter as an accessory from your dealer.
Good luck.

Although I drive an auto, I like the rocker shifter. I think it is because I never really ridden ATV's with the "normal" style. And therefore, that is what I am used to.

I don't really like the rocker shifter either. It was advertised as being easier to use, but personally I think it's a pain in the ***. Like you said, there are aftermarket shifters though...so it can be changed.

I am still a little up in the air on it. Had my first decent ride this weekend, think it is growing on me. Any way you can get one from AC for like $20. At least you can for my quad, I would bet they either use the same one or have a version available for yours.
