Hey NWThunting,
The seal is not designed to do that, But something had to give with all that pressure.
The Dynojet kit is a awsome, way more power and better throttle response, what I use to do in 1st I now do in second grear.
Oh, when I installed the kit I had to go to one size bigger jet (134) than what they asked for. It would not go over 35 miles per hour, way to lean. In the kit there is a trouble shoot guide, tells you the best way to set up the carb.
I am now useing arctic cats 0-40w synthetic oil, great for cold winter starting.
I hope this helps.

Hello all,

I thought I would see if someone could help me out here. I have a 2003 500i manual. I was riding yesterday and the plastic cap on the shifter shaft that goes into the transmission housing just on the inside of the shifter kept popping out and oil would pour out. I knew that there must have been some "not right" pressure there because when I opened the oil plug to top up the oil there was alot of air pressure as I took the it off. Anyway, I figure it out that it was the vent line that goes to the airbox. It had condesation in there and was plugged. I took it off the airbox to get home and everything was okay. I figure the problem was that it was really warm and wet here as the snow was melting on Sunday and then it turned really cold on Monday when I have the condensation freezing problem.

My question is , do I have to replace that plastic seal? Is it supposed to pop out under pressure? I put it back in and it isn't leaking but I don't know much about this setup.

Any help would be greatly appreciated.

BTW, I live in the NWT in Canada. That is why we still have snow and cold.

Thanks man! I think I will change it. Do you know if that seal is designed to do that?

Nice machine by the way. Almost the exact setup as mine. did the dynojet kit make a difference for you?
