I have state farm insurance on the prairie 700 & Predator. $500.00 deductible. Full coverage, 25-50-25 liability.
Its $21.00 per month for both.

I know most people buy the insurance to protect against theft. I got mine primarily for the liability.

The prairie is actually 50 bucks more a year to insure than the my raptor. 350 for the raptor and 400 for the p700. I dont think the mini is insured. Progressive.

Tell your homeowners insurance agent that you use it for strictly yard maintinance. I use my Sp600 to plow snow and mow lawn (seriously, I do) and is covered in my "contents" part of my policy under "lawnmower". But only because it's for yard maintinance.

That would at least cover it for theft and fire.

I pay 260 a year through allstate.

I have a nice heavy vinyl coated steel cable and Heavy duty pad lock that I secure mine with every night when out in the woods or leave it while hunting or fishing or at home in the garage even. I learned long ago that some people will steal your toys because they are to lazy to earn their own. My kid(some kid, 19 years old but she is the baby) has learned from dad's example, when she bought her dirt bike she also bought a cable and lock.

StormDawg,

I have my quads insured thru Allstate and I pay just over 200 for comp/collsion/and medical and I just added my boys Raptor50 for another 90 bucks. It would seem that the Raptor which cost 2 grand would be alot cheaper then my 6700 dollar Kodiak but there was only a 100 bucks difference for the coverage, must be all the tickets my 4 year old has racked up Check around to all the insurance companies to get price quotes. I have all my insurance thru Allstate so I just added them to my poilcies but I have seen some people post that they are paying less then 50 bucks a year for their quads. AlaskaBoy.

Hey Catt,

I have a 500 dollar deductible. I figured it would not be used but if it did 500 is cheaper then 7 grand. By adjusting your deductible and tweaking the medical you could save 50 to 80 dollars. I have dropped the medical(yesterday) since I have a good medical insurance no sense paying double for the medical. AlaskaBoy.

yamhawarrior, what is the declared value of your policy stating? 140 dollars for a 9 year old quad seems alittle high. Looking up the blue book value I see it is worth about 2400 dollars. At the value I would think any amount of damage would be considered totaled to most insurance compaines.

I am curious what the declared value is. AlaskaBoy.

I have state fram and pay $205 a year for full coverage and a $250 deductble

I had to pull out the paperwork to check this...

We added both our cats to the Allstate insurance we have on our cars and house. We pay $445 for $100 deductible on damage. This includes the trailer as well. Plus we also have medical.

You can't even walk to the store without insurance these days!

Hey guys (and girls)....I am considering insuring my ATV...at least until I get it paid for. Are there any good national companies here in the U.S. to go through for ATV insurance? What kind of monthly rate would I be looking at? I have a clean record on my truck insurance if that makes a difference.

Thanks for all the responses everybody BR>
I checked Progressive, they quoted me $212/ year with a $500 deductible. Then I checked with State Farm who I have auto and life insurance with and they quoted me $183 / year for the same. I didn't realize it would be so cheap to insure! $15 a month is definitely worth it! It would SUCK to be making payments for 5 years on something you don't even have anymore if it gets stolen! I have to get my ATV back from the shop (working on that stupid brake light switch) now so the insurance agent can take photos of it, etc.

Yeah, last time my buddy and I went camping/riding at the local off-road park...there was a sign posted for a reward. Apparently, one night while everyone was sleeping (no riding is allowed there after dark) somebody rolled a Honda 450 racing quad away and the owner woke up the next morning and it was gone. That's what got me thinking here recently about getting some insurance. It would suck if someone rolled your quad away while you were asleep and you still owed $4500 on it.
