Been dragging my ash for way to long on this. I have finally committed to spend the money, and get my CAT! I have to say, I am glad I did hesitate on getting the 500i last year. Now I am getting my self the 650... I love the way it GOES!!! Electric 2x4, locker front end, extra fuel, outstanding Power... Smooth take off... Great ride, upgraded axles and all this on a way over built chassis. Perfection....
To make sure I made the best decision, I rode the Griz, sat on the Polaris, Suzuki, etc. Really tried to do all my home work, and give ever one a chance at showing off there product. What can I say but Ill take it.. I bet I don&39;t get a lick of sleep tonight..
Oh shift, WHAT COLLOR? I guess as long as its green that is all that maters.

After an all day adventure at the dealership, I drove home with a set of headlights in my rear view mirror, Arctic Cat headlights that is…
There was only one Green 650 left when I got there. But it was an LE…..
I am sorry, but that is way to much Lime…..
So from the kindness of his hart, the owner of the dealer ship removed all of the stuff I did not like.
I am now the owner of a custom 650… I have the yellow stickers, yellow coils, lime winch plate and upgraded winch with roller fair lead, BLACK MRP racks, standard grill and no chrome wheels… Exactly how I wished the bike to look the day I test-drove the base 650 last week.
We installed the chrome wheels on a red 650. I am here to say the chrome wheels makes red look real good … For a spit second, that red had my attention.
So you all know, the new bikes come with the reset plug and instructions. Well at least mine did…
Now I get to start setting up this bike for my hunting seasons…
Way to much fun….

To much fun...

Doctorturbo Well, here go my reasons, not in any order.
I liked the IRS, centered rear differential, full tubular construction, including front A arms, thicker metal at A arm attach points, a well thought out chassis design, and on and on...
I rode the Griz, it was ok as far as drivability, just not as beefy as the Cat.. Also, the rear diff is off centered, making one short axle, and one long. Cat ahs equal length axles both sides... No extra stress on one-axle vs other.
Cat had a open carrier up front, with a locker. This alone makes the cat a very easy handling bike.
They all have something wrong with them; I just liked a lot more things on the cat then any other bike.
One thing I did on all bikes I test-drove, was drive them uphill backwards. I thought the cat was the absolute best in this area. Not that I intend on driving backwards, I just feel it important to be able to get out the way I came in. It does help to come out in one piece. I also feel I can use this bike to more my style of riding. I am not a drag racer, but has enough power to do any thing I wanted.
There are just to many reasons I chose the cat.
You should clime up for a sit, ride, feel the power of a cat, and don&39;t look back. Well except to make sure it is still on the trailer going home….
Oh, a two year warranty sure makes you feel good too!

I sat on the Polaris, but I felt uncomfortable just sitting there. TO WIDE.... The other turn off was the disengagement of 4X4 in reverse. I had a friend tell me, when he used the reverse override button, it would toss him if he wasn&39;t ready...

sounds like you have one awesome dealer there

why would they have 4x4 disengage in reverse, do they think that it will not be needed when going backward, i often back my self out of the snow that i get my wheeler stuck in, and this would not work well if i only had 2wd in reverse

One of my friends put the MRP racks on his LE and he truly loves it. As for me, mine came with the MRP racks and you will find that the racks make the Artic Cat the best ATV out there. Wait till you start adding the options to it. You will be able to really customize it. Congradulations on your new purchase. Cat 650.

Those Cat eyes really do look cool staring at you in the rear view mirror, don't you think??

WearyWonderer what made you go with the Cat? What pushed you to the Cat that brand XYZ did not? Just wondered? Price? Build?
I'm sure you will be very happy with your new quad, they look very well built to me.

WearyWonderer I saw many of the things you saw. I really like the frames on the AC, Bomb, and Polaris. Some of the quads frames I looked at looked cheap to me.
I'm sure you will like your Cat very much. Thanks for the input.
