GOOD TO KNOW
I figured if it was a connection problem you would have some common symptons like sputtering, misfire, power on and off like a kill switch does.etc.. But this one just went dead......... common for coil, or even a cdi. with no fire whatso ever comming to the plug..good luck

i would tell them where they could stick the 15.00... Call AC direct, and tell them. They will handle it. VERY GODD CUSTOMER SERVICE. My axek broke and it was out of warranty, dealer would not fix it and told me i shouldnt waist my time trying to call AC. I did anyways and i had the last laugh...

CDI and coil are sepetate units, have not seen much problems with either one. Usually just a connection problem.

My 04 400i manual died on me last night after 3-4 mile ride as I was pulling in the driveway. It will turn over but it will not start. There is no fire at the spark plug wire. Any body got any ideas??

Hondabuster, there were no other symptoms. It just died. I had already checked the fuses and connectors and tried another plug before I started this thread. Thanks for a helpful reply. It doesn't matter now, it's in the shop now. I should know something about it this afternoon.

I talked to the dealer this morning and he said the coil was bad. Said it would be ready in about a week. Arctic Cat does not get in a hurry, seems like they would since I've only had it for 60 days. Dealer said Cat charges a $15 emergency fee on top of shipping if you want the part overnight. I would be willing to pay for overnight, but not the $15 fee. Can't see paying $50 just to get my bike back a few days earlier. I hope this is not going to be a common problem. I'm glad that it went out now in the driveway instead of on the trail in Arkansas. That would be a long tow back to camp. Thanks guys for the helpful replies.

The weather here has been so crappy that I 'm not in a hurry to get it back. It has rained here all week and just quit today. I'm new to the warranty game, my Bayou is 11 years old and I never had to get anything repaired on it except the air box bracket had to be rewelded after I had it a couple of months.

I was going to pick up my bike in the morning, but the dealer left a message that it was not ready. He said he put the new coil in but nothing happened. He called AC and they said I have a bad stator. This is starting to sound like a pretty common problem. I'll keep you guys posted. By the way, does any body have AC's phone number???

Not going to get my bike back this week. Dealer called yesterday and said the stator was on back order. Should be ready this time next week. "Should" is the key word.

Finally got my bike back last night. Here's the story. The dealer is a new dealer, only had Cats since January, so they don't have all their special tools yet. The stator was ordered along with the flywheel puller. The stator made it in last Wed or Thur, but no puller. They had to call other dealers to borrow a puller. Called yesterday morning to see when it would be ready and they said I could pick it up this morning. Well I called again yesterday afternoon at 4:00 and told them I would not be able to make it in the morning and that I was on my way to pick it up then. Got there around 5:00, they said they had it together, but it would not start with the starter. The pullrope would start it though. The mechanic had something out of place. He tore it back down and got it right although he had to work an hour and a half after closing time. He and the owner were very apologetic about how long it took to get it fixed.

Kill switch on?
Was there any other symtoms before it died? Sputtering or backfiring?
How did you check for spark, did you pull the plug and hook up the wire, and hold it against the motor? No spark...even a weak one? Try a second plug?
Start looking for connectors that are pulled apart, or wet . Maybe a fuse..check by the battery for one.
let us know what you find.

Im not up on how much of your a/c is suzuki, would a cdi or coil, used on an eiger be the same? Is there a suzuki dealer around you? Its a warentee item, it shouldnt cost you anything...shipping, or emergency fee ,or anything. You should submit a bill for your time and trouble, not to mention your loss of use, and the warentee is running out on their shop floor. my two cents.
