WELL I had a500 for3 years and the650 outclassed it big time the ride is phenomenal I wasleary on getting the 650 because of the IRS system and I really liked my solid axle on the other machine but now i don,t think i,ll ever go back to solid axle unless I need just a pure utility machine. My wife and I were doing about 50 mph on a dirt trail when we came upon a small ditch about 1.5 to 2 feet deep I seen this thing to late, told my wife to hang on because I figured this one was going to hurt but the suspension took it all in couldn,t believe it no bad bounce or any thing it just took it like butter if that would have been my 500i I THINK I would probably have eaten the handle bars so I say this machine has been put together very well and I glad i got one

It rides like a Cadillac. In my opinion, it handles all types of terrain well. It is very stable, even when cutting across the side of a hill. It has a nice, wide track. It will go places the Prairie will struggle with. Particularly if we are talking rock crawling. The nastier the terrain, the bigger the AC advantage. However, if you are running at speed and want to hang the rear end out like a sport quad, the Prairie is the way to go. The Prairie is a great machine, even in tough terrain, but its ground clearance and suspension travel hamper it in that area in a big way.
Again, just my opinion. I have ridden both.

Some of the trails (all) have big roots to run over, and the mud, that place has about everything you might face on a trail. If the Cat is great there I know I would love it. Most of the riding we do is a little more sedate than that but we do run up there sometimes.
I'm registered so I can ride on the road, and do. How is the Cat on hard pavement @ 50mph.
One of my buddys has a polaris 500 sportsman with IRS and he refuses to ride on some of our trails because he says it feels like it wants to roll down the hill sideways, but his machine is way more capable than he is. He wouldn't push a Yamaha Breeze too hard LOL. So his opinion doesnt count much and he won't let anyone else sit on his ride.

I havn't taken the 650 to Haspin yet, but the 375 handles the trails there with aplomb. The 650 does almost everything better than the 375, although the ride is just slightly less plush. It is fine at 50, but those speeds scare me a bit on any machine (The 650 is loafing at 50, power-wise). The biggest difference is made by the radial tires. They are balanced at speed. Machines I've ridden with bias ply feel like they have parkinson's disease over 40mph on pavement. On rugged trails, the 650 feels more stable than the 375 due to the wider track, but the 375 is decieving. Once you get used to it, you find it is more stable than it feels. I had a Polaris Magnum and it felt more stable when traversing a hill, but in reality, it would roll sooner than the 375 would. The 650, with its wider track, is even less likely to roll. And, you can tighten the shocks for an even more stable feel. I like them on the softest setting, though, for suspension travel and ride quality. I'm looking forward to taking it there sometime. I've had the 650 at the Badlands, Windrock, and Redbird. Redbird was the harriest because it was extremely muddy and slick when I went there. The hills were treacherous. The 650 outclassed every other machine there that day. I was the only one without stripes in my underwear from close calls!

I think you've got CND and US prices there.

How does the 650 cat ride? The ground clearance looks awsome and it has that 650 beast in it. How is the handling on trails and crossing mountains. Is it top heavy when cutting across the side of a hill? I see with upgrades it can be made to really rip but will it run with the other big dawgs? My buddy is getting a P700 soon and I'm not worried about top end speed but I don't want to finish out of first at the top of the hill. It looks like the Cat will go where no man has gone.
