On my 2000 250 Cat the Idle Speed Screw runs from the bottom of the Carb on a "flex shaft" to above the Carb to a convenient place just under the seat for easy adjustment...you 250 and 300 guys know what I mean. My problem is that with the cold weather here I need to adjust my idle, and the flex shaft seems to be seized up. Has anyone else had this trouble, and how did you fix it? Can't find any info in my service manual to help, and before I tear it apart I was hoping someone has already dealt with this...
Thanks to all who reply.

2000 model will have Mikuni carb, 4 screws hold cover on but moosecat has right idea. Also lube flex shaft with WD-40 or some kind of silicone lube to displace moisture.

Hey, this is my first forum, so bear with me. I've been doing alot to my 03 300 4x4, and a few problems,
but I have alot of experience with this carb, try removing the black cover on the side of the carb where the
throttle cable enters. it have one phillips screw. oil the threads on the cable screw inside the cover, could
be coroded.
Good luck
