If you are willing to spend the money, you could spring for the front wheels off of the 2002 ACT models which have a slightly wider offset than your factory wheels. Not sure if they would clear the 12 up front, but with you alreading moving in the shock mount and the added offset it would be more than enough, even if it did rub, not to cause damage.

Moving the shock mount would require you to cut and weld them to the new place. This is a lot of work to go through just to run bigger tires which the 280cc motor probably couldn't pull. Also remember as you alter the angle of the shock in relation to the frame the force applied to that shock also alters. Therefore the shock will become softer or stiffer in depending on which way you go. Like I said you really are going to a lot of work for such a minimal benefit. Which I am not convinced that it would actually be a benefit to run larger tires.

Anybody tried to put rears on the front so I go to 26X12X12 on the rear?? I know the 25" rears hit the shock mounts on the front, is there any way beside spacers, like moving shock mount in a little.

I don't think you'd have to move the mount just the shock itself. I've already moved it a little to get more ground clearance. I don't really need taller tires but I don't think 1" will make that much diff, but I know my 250 Suz with 9" & 12.5" wide tires will go thru mud holes where my 300 only goes till the frame is hung up. Don't forget the 10" wide rear tires on the bike are only 8.25" wide.

Hi ARTCAT What did your 1" lift kit contain for parts. I made my own lift & got a good 1 1/2", your right especially the front really need more gc.

I tried moving my rears to the front, in preparation for going up a size all around. They rubbed, so I ordered 25x8-12 for the front, and 26x9-12 for the rear. Notice I went to a narrower tire in the back. I was worried that it would bog in the mud with the 12" wide 589. As far as being able to pull the larger diameter tire, I haven't had any problems. The 12" wides will fit the rear with no sweat, there's buckets of clearance back there.

Hi i own a 300 and got a 1 inch lift kit for it.Let me tell you one 1 inch makes a big diffence.

Hi the lift kit is only small pieces of plates that you bolt on top of the shocks. There are two plates for each shock and the plates have small grooves that fit right were you bolt your shock onto the frame.I got mine from my dealer.
