I haven't been on in a few days, cause my connection sucks. I can't say that I've noticed any rise or drop in power. I've got about 225 miles now. Changed out the oil (which is a pain with the panels and the location of the filter) yesterday. My cousin and I rode a little yesterday and I rode the AC the whole time. I absolutely hate riding it. It is like steering a bulldozer with handlebars compared to the Grizzly. Also, the AC feels like a total slug too. It sounds sad, but I absolutely don't like to ride it. I'm about to pull the lift kit off it and get it closer to stock form. I need to sell it too. Damn, I hope somebody buys it. I love the way it takes on terrain, but its a pain in the butt for joyriding dirt roads. My cousin had a good time leaving me behind. I'd have that 500 pegged and he would be at like 1/4 throttle just laughing at me and taunting me. What he forgot in all of this is that his 454 isn't any faster than my 500. Ha Ha! I don't know. I think he is waiting to see what polaris will make, and then maybe get a Prairie 650.
As far as the sway bar. I'm not even worrying about it anymore, unless I get to driving in some nasty junk again. I will say that I gave it the water test yesterday. I was skeptical, but I just hit the gas and let it eat through a 30 yard pool that was over the engine. I had my knees on the seat the whole time, and water at one point sloshed over the top of the seat. I was scared, but it never slipped one time. Not to say that it won't in the future, because I'm still leary of a belt drive, but yesterday it went right through that water and never missed a beat. Screw whichever idiots kept writing about that rumored cough and sputter thing. What did they know.

I didn't have a filter wrench to fit it so i had to make one out of a wooden rod and a piece of nylon strap. Even then, I couldn't get the damn thing off, so I put some sand paper doubled up inside the strap for extra grip and finally got it off. They must really put it on tight from the factory or something. Anyway, the main beef I have about it is the filter location. When you take it off, it spills oil all over the engine, and then you have to go and wipe it all off. It gets all in those fins and stuff, and its a pain to get it out of those grooves.

Yeah, seemed like maybe 11.5 up front, 10.5 in the middle, and around 11 in the back. The tires measured almost 24" tall. It doesn't look very high at all to look at it really. The back of the sportsman looks way up there. You can see the difference in my pictures between my lifted AC with 27" tires and the stock Grizzly. I tried to keep the camera level on one shot so the difference would be easy to see.

Andy,
Have you measured the ground clearance yet?? I measured one on the show room floor and found that it only had 10.5" where the skid plate overlaps.

Where ya been i been looking for updates on that badboy new quad of yours. How ya like it so far???? Really curious how you are adapting to the auto. Is the power getting better with miles ??????? I just saw one today in real life i REALLY like how they have the diff lock set up that is a cool switch. Really looked hard at that rear sway bar. It was deffinatly an afterthaught. I got some ideas on what you could do to make it perform good though. I saw your post about the AC IRS if you want that flex just toss the swaybar thats what AC did.
Good luck

Hey Andy
Glad to hear your loving your new quad. I was curious about how it would do in deep water. My Griz does an outstanding job of getting through the deep stuff without problems. I couldn't imagine that the new Griz would be any worse, in fact I figured it would probably be better. I sounds like they didn't improve the oil change procedure any. Mine is a pain in the ass to change the oil as well. Anyway, happy trails.

Andy,
Thats pretty good clearence for 24" tires! I measured mine with the 27" Titans(26 1/4 actual size) and mine has 10 1/2" under the front skid plate, below the winch. 10 3/4" to the center skid plate, 11 3/8" to the frame behind the center skid plate, 11 5/8" to the rear axle housing, and a whopping 8 1/2" to the bottom of the rear dif skid plate(obviously the weak link in this scenario). It may be low, but I don't have to grease it, and its very sturdy!Plus it has a radius to it so it will float over the top of the deep stuff, as long as the front wheels are still doing their thing.
