In the directions they tell you to completely remove the shocks, but you don't have to. Just remove the bottom bolt and swing the shocks up and hold them up with some string or something if they get in your way. Now there are 2 versions of the lift kit, I've had both. One is a front lift kit with 2 plates that sandwitch the shock's mounting location and another is basically a "cut to fit" peice of square tubing. The square tubing is the one I tested in prototype mode, but I'm not sure if they ever did put it into production or not. Both of them are kinda annoying to get the u-bolt threw to bolt the support bracket to the a-arm, but thats because they have EXTREMLY tight clearances in there work. The problem is that when the U-bolts cure they sometimes deform and require you to pinch them to get threw the holes drilled for them, but the holes are drilled in the same spot time and time again. So don't be surprised if you get alittle annoyed about how you are haveing trouble getting the U-bolt threw the support bracket, just gotta have the nerves for it.

In my opinion I would not install another lift kit because of the excess angle your front drive shafts and stress on the c.v. joints.I had a lift on my 450 honda and it beat the front ball joints out.I think some one else had the lift and did alot of front damage. This is only my opinion,so if you do install it be aware of the maintaince aspect.I have spring spacers installed on my 500 cat and I am very pleased with the result so far. Best of luck.
