I have a Manual CAT 500 and it has a lever not a switch to go from 2w/4w. It steers a little easier but what I really notice is the sharp turning radius especially on surfaces where you can kick the back end around. On tight trails where traction is not a problem it is the way to go. It can actually feel a LITTLE sporty!!. I have 589 M/T's so they really hook up even in 2w.

And better for your tires if u have to drive on paved surfaces.

How about less wear and tear on the differentials.

Is it that big of a deal? If you left it in 4w all the time, what would be the difference. Just speed?

Ok, I think I understand. So 2w gives you alittle better stearing so you can do sporty moves. (less traction) I guess that makes sence. So if you are mainly doing mudding and climbing 2w is pointless, but if you are all trail riding 2w is nice?
