Has anyone ever adjusted their wet clutch on a manual shift model? Underneath an inpesction plate on the right side of the motor is 2 adjustments with jam nuts. How do these work?
I have a '99 400 with about 1400 miles. It is not exhibiting any problems, but i was wondering if this should be done.
Thanks

Boner, I guess I must have gotten lucky!..I have a very large Craftsman phillips srewdriver that I used to think, "what in the h#@$ will I ever use this for?", until now. I just used the screwdriver and good old German temper and they both came loose. Thanks for the advice.
PS how will I know if this adjustment was sucessful?
Thankfully,

OK, when you get the cover off, you gotta lossen the jamb nuts on the 2 screws under the cover. Then rotate the adjustment screw that is farthest forward counterlock wise (lefty lossy) untill it stops. Now, rotate the 2nd screw (farthest to the rear) back and forth to make sure it moves freely, then lock the jamb nut on it. Now rotate the screw that is farthest forward 1/8 of a turn clockwise (righty tightly) and then lock the jamb nut. Test it out, then install your plate.

I forgot to ask this, but how did you get your access plate off?? Just a normal screw driver or what?

Well, if you shift it and like it, it was sucessful. If you don't like it, you will have to play with it till you like it.

you may have to use an impact driver (hammer type) to loosen the screws
