I paid 3.99 for the Fram filter on my AC 500. Just for grins and giggles, i cut open my used AC/Suzuki filter and a new Fram. They were identical on the interior, right down to the number of pleats and the stamped number on the internal sheet metal. Just thought you might like to know.

Don't forget to check out K-Mart. In our area they stock the Castrol filters which are usually priced at $3.99 and on sale for $3.00 and match up to AC and Fram numbers. :)

I know there was a post about oil filters a while back. I just wanted to let you guys know that I found a Fram filter #PH6018 and it fit good. A little smaller diameter than stock but sealed good.
I remember the other filter in the last post was an STP #SMO-18 if I'm correct but I had a hard time locating it.
The Fram filter cost me about seven dollars at a local auto parts store. About twice the price of the STP and probably no different on the inside but I needed a filter right away, so I bit the bullet.

Minehunter,
Is the Fram filter the same number as the one as posted? And if it is, where did you get it so cheap?
Last, is the filter for the auto the same as the 5 speed?
Thanks alot...

I to have tried the fram 6018 and i paid 6.99 at the parts store. Wallmart carries fram but they dont normally stock the ph6018. The lady that works at the parts department is trying to order them for me for 3.99 each. Also a friend told me that anything fram makes ac delco has a filter to . I am checking in to that now . The arctic cat dealer here in elko nevada sells the filters for 11.95 each.

Another possibility is an EMCO filter. They are a couple bucks cheaper, and have the same construction as the AC/Suzuki. I have a friend that has a 1400 Intruder that uses the same filter that my 500's use.
