Look below the quick reply box. You'll see a line that says:
Subscribe to this topic and receive email notification of replies.
If you use the regular reply, it's just below the reply area. Make sure the box next to it is unchecked. Otherwise, everytime someone responds to the thread, you'll get an email.

Yeah, that was much better.
Not sure why, but I don't have uncheck for each post. Not complaining, but still a mystery.
