We cut over to a new server tonight (May 26). Please let me know if the forums are running the same, faster or slower and if you hit any software glitches or bugs!

Thanks!

Thanks.

Everything will be fast this time of night. I'm curious what it will be like around 8:00 PM on Friday when we're at our peak load.

Scooby,

That's because the forums are coming into the busy season. We're working on some big changes that you'll see in about 2 months.

Posted by: dbeck

No, I haven't announced this hot news!!! LOL!!! At least I haven't said anything that I recall.

Cal,

It hasn't happened -- yet. That doesn't mean its not happening. We got buried the last few months with advertising and other requests that had to take priority over the site migration.

The new site is built and on the new server. What is not there yet is the content from the old site.

The good news is I just hired a new guy last week. His job is to spend 8 hours a day working on the site content migration. Yesterday I set up his workstation with dual monitors since he'll be doing a lot of copying and pasting as he moves the site to the new server. He sits behind me in my office and I promise that I if I see him slacking I'll rap him on the head and tell him, "that's from CalDS650 in the forums".

In other words, the migration should move quickly now that we have an employee working on it full time.

Dave

Are you just needing to vent or is there a point to your discussion?

Cal,

The revenue is being put to good use and to your benefit and that of every other forum member. Changes take time. Especially when done on the scale of a site the size of this one. You really need to have two things -- trust and patience.

We have three massive development projects going on right now. We're spending about $20,000.00 on these projects and they are all for new and improved things for our members. So cut us some slack.

By the way, reveue from supporting memberships doesn't even cover the cost of running these forums for a single month. The advertising is what enables us to expand our services for our readers.

Could be he's waiting for you to become a supporting member. hr>

NO WAY dbeck is making more money off all the new ads he as added. I am still waiting to see if the new articles and stories show up and then I will not join. So far dbeck has made more money and we have lost space and info. PS the cut and paste still does not work.

For the people that are waiting for the new stuff to kick in,,,,,i can tell you that dbeck has been working on a lot of stuff for some time now. Take your time Dbeck,,,,you cant rush art!!

Your choice whether to support the site or not. But sounds like you're getting what you've paid. Asking to get free upgrades, is like asking for a tax return while on unemployment.
