In Wyoming, we can register and license our quads with nothing more than headlights, a brake light, and a horn(can be a bike horn even). My buddies Banshee is licensed, its cool to see him cruising the streets and street racing once in awhile. Good Luck, RoostKing...

There was legislation doing just what you said. Last time I heard it was on the way to the governor to be signed. I don't know wheater it was signed or not and have not heard anything in the last couple of months. Basically, it allows for anyone engaged in the activity of farming, mining, construction and one other thing I don't remember to ride on two lane roads. You have to have a light on the bike and maybe some other requirements, not sure, and you have to be within 2 miles(if I remember correctly) of the location of the work site.

Could be, I don't know much about this bill but I have heard of it. I don't have any interest in it really as the only time the tires on my bikes touch pavement is when I am loading them in and out of the trailer.

here in virginia, it is legal to cross public roads "by the most direct route" as long as the rider is wearing a helmet. what I would like to see is the median of divided highways open to atv traffic. states could generate revenue by charging for a yearly "registration" which would allow you to travel the shoulders & medians of public roads. just a thought

I haven't heard off anything like that up here in Washington. I hope that it is more than rumor!

I thought it was supposed to be like all other farm, construction, etc. equipment. You gotta have the lights front and back, and that big ugly orange triangle on it somewhere. Same as farm rules I'm pretty sure.

I've been told that there are some new laws that will take effect on July 15 that will allow a person to operate an ATV on Kentucky's 2-lane roads under certain conditions. Can anyone give me a url that contains info on this? While at another persons house, I came across an article from the AMA site that seemed to back that up, but now I can't find it. After I came home, I searched extensively, but now all that I can find are some proposed laws on the AMA site. Thanks!

bpace, The part that I read didn't have a limit of the amount traveled for the uses you mentioned, but for recreational riders, had a provision to cross the roads as close to a right angle as possible, but gave a 2 tenths of a mile limit in case the trail didn't go straight across the road. I sure wish that I could find that link that had the info on it!
