What a coincidence, I was also there on this past Saturday. Sorry I missed you. Did you chance the really big bog? I talked to three people that did and it took them quite a while to get out.
I was out putting some easy break-in miles on the new Magnum 500 so I bypassed the mud put this time. I did pick up a flat tire about 100 yards from the Amoco station in Isle. It took 3 plugs and a can of fix-a-flat to stop the leak. Darn sharp railroad rocks. But a great day never the less. BTW it was at least 20 degrees warmer in Isle than it was in Moose Lake.

Next time your up there take the Soo Line into Mcgrath and have a burger at "Vi's". If you think your man enough, try a double!! When you get into town, "Vi's" is out on Hwy. 65.

I was up there too but the weekend before you guys. (June 3-4) We measured at the deepest part of the sinkhole and it was about 8-10 inches above my handlebars. Glad I stayed out of those ruts!
If you dont know about them, there are some great trails east of 65 also in the same vicinity. E-mail me if you want and I will give you directions!

hey thearcher...i think i seen you stuck in the bog...did you have a large cooler and a gas can on the back rack?....don't know what kinda machine you were on because you were buried pretty good :)....we were there watching you get winched out....i was the one on the sportsman that drove around alittle while you were stuck....well hope you guys had a good time...that it easy

I would highly suggest to all the Minnesota and Wisconsin riders that you take some time to run the Red Top Trail in Isle Minnesota. My buddy and I spent this past weekend out there and had a really good time. We were really impressed by the trail selection there are hardpack trails and bogs and mud pits and a really nice trail called ten bears trail that gives you lots of off camber riding and rockcrwling. It was a really good time. I recomend it.

funny you were there. my buddy i ride with lives in woodbury too.
yeah i went through the big bog. i was fun but i got so stuck i thought i was in big trouble. it took 2 warn a2000 winches, one with a snatch block to unstick me. i had my king burried all the way up to the front rack in mud, not water, mud. i had the front diff. locked too. we actually ended up breaking the winch on my budies honda.
it was a fun time. we camped at mcquoids. they have a really nice setup there. they were very helpful too. the let us use one of their hoses to clean off our machines after the ride and they let us use the hot tub and everything even though we were camping. i think we are going to plan another trip up there in a month or so, maybe we could hook and ride together.

yep that was me!!!!! i was up to my eye balls that was for sure. we had a heck of a time getting my machine out. all for fun though!! that was the most stuck i have ever been. we wnded up using 2 winches and a snatch block to pull my machine out. fun fun fun

if you took that article and then added a few more loop trails it would be on par. they are constantly adding trails up along that soo line trail. i called the dnr to get maps and they had to send me last years maps because they have not had time to map out the new loops on the main red top trail. i talked to a woman at mcquoids who said that the dnr has been working on adding new trails up there all spring and they are supposd to open in the fall. it is a nice set up. close to camping and motels, the trails are very accesible.
