California requires one, and I will look for a web site that will tell you about it. It's no big deal, a lot of dealerships sell them. You can probably get one in advance by mail.
Let us know when you are coming down. Maybe we can get together a group of riders and show you around. It really helps at a huge place like Glamis to have somebody along who knows the place. Lots of great cross-country riding as well at places like Ocotillo Wells, so bring your regular tires too.....

If you are out of state and your OHV is registered in your state then you are ok. If you are from a state where they do not register OHV's, then you need to get a premit.
So, if Alberta titles and registers OHV's then you are ok, but do bring some form of proof of registration with you....

Pick one up in Vegas before you head to Dumont...if you need one....

Even in the "dunes", absolutely run the spark arrestor! The edges of the dunes (where you will be camping) have trees and brush and God knows we don't need any more brush fires here in Calif!

96 in Calif.
While one will probably not get cited at Glamis, Pismo is another story.

What state are you in, and what state are you planning to go to?
Some states have reciprocation agreements on the stickers.

Don't know what your riding, but also be sure to check the ratings for sound levels if you have an aftermarket exhaust.
Some places it's a fine, some worse.

Recon probably knows what the ratings are in Cali, but I think most places that have limits are at 96-98db.
I've seen people in here say they've gotten fines, some were told to park it (makes for a long walk back) and a few that have been impounded.
I think mostly it will depend on how you handle yourself, but even then, you still may just find the one officer that's gonna be a pain.
