Indian Ridge trail. I don't ride a sport quad but we were able to ride at a fast pace.

I would recommend the Pinnacle Creek, Little Coal River (when dry) and the Buffalo Mountain systems simply because they have a higher percentage of green trails which tend to be a little wider and a little less rocky. The wider (green) trails would potentially allow for more speed since you have two way traffic on all trails. You still have to be careful going around corners though as you never know what may be coming around the corner from the other direction (could be a bike, quad, UTV or even a truck!). The blue trails tend to be narrower (and rougher) and the black trails narrower still (and very rough). Of these three the Buffalo Mountain system is unique because you have 3 towns (Delbarton, Matewan and Williamson) that you can legally drop into for food and fuel.
I'm not sure about the Indian Ridge system because I have never ridden there yet. Now I have ridden sport quads at Browning Fork and Dingess Rum too and have had a blast (I chose different primary routes based upon whether I was riding a sport or a utility) but the 3 systems that I mentioned above would probably give you a higher percentage of sport quad friendly miles out of the trails that are available in those systems...

Looking for advice on the best Hatfield McCoy trail systems for sport quads. The only other time I went to H-M was in Spring 2004 and I rode Browning Fork & Dingess Rum. I thought that Dingess Rum was better for sport quads but a much smaller trail system overall. I imagine that a lot has changed in 3.5 years.

I noticed that you have no air box. Is that how you ride at H-M? I've been riding with the EHS racing lid which is nothing more than a regular airbox lid with the center cut out and an outerwear stretched across the opening. I've got the K&N plus outerwear. My K&N stays squeaky clean but I have not ridden in any really wet/muddy conditions since I went to this setup. I'm a little concerned about how it will do at H-M. When I went in 2004 it had rained before we got there and Browning Fork was full of huge puddles that couldn't be avoided. I could always rejet for airbox lid on but I'm lazy.
Anybody have any recommendations besides stop being lazy? I thought about stuffing some paper towels in the bottom of the airbox to soak up any water that gets in and keep it from splashing around.

I forgot to mention, the group has decided on Pinnacle Creek. Hopefully it'll work out fine. I'm counting on the 4x4 crowd to pull us strangers out of any trouble we encounter. They probably laugh at the sport quads. That's OK - who's laughing at the dunes!

Browning Fork is by far my favored trail system ,there are trails that i wont take a sport quad on like 93 94 and 29 but all the rest are a breeze

thats right no air box . my setup does allow me to reattach the air box to act as an splash guard , i had to cut out most of the front of the box to make that happen. two small bolts is all that holds it on and there easy to get to .

you shouldn't have a problem we ride at little coal with the little guy on the 50cc and he can get by ok with out getting stuck. The other guy that went with us had a 400ex and he was getting around just fine.There is some big mud pits but there is 99%of the time a way around them.
