The state parks system here has a program funded by our OHV registration money, where they develop new riding areas. Trouble is, we haven't seen a new one in many many years (although they did expand Ocotillo Wells). There was supposed to be another one opening very near where I live, but it has gotten held up with a bunch of environmental nonsense, and I doubt it will ever open.........

that sucks. i hate to hear about any ride spot closing or not opening even way over here. the end of the article did say that they werent abandoning the project and were trying to find another spot... i guess thats encouraging. i dont know of any new areas to ride over in my part of the country. we have lost many many areas due to the carelessness of some riders - like leaving trash etc... its a shame too b/c now we have to drive a few hrs to find a decent place to ride.
