Recon, its a great idea, but there is a lot baggage or stuff to figure out, but its also something that can and has been done.
The more successfull ones I have been on were all in PA, and no not at paragoon either. (sorry to those that like the place, but except for some truck guys it seems not too many atv or bike people really love the place) There have been some at tower city, but the people who run the place have asked or really told the members involved that they dont like having their name plastered over the net for a "run" and though a good group and a great place I wouldnt think of it for more than like 12 or 2o or so.
There are some guys from offroadnj.com that get together pretty often (i think there doing so soon so take a look at the rides thread) and this is mostly in PA too ( normally between TC and para areas) and these are normally more of a mix of sport and util machines, and the couple I have made were great rides (well maybe except the one when my timing chain went lol) and there not all pay rides either.
I would love to have one in NJ, but the fact the state looks at us as a source of income and loves to harrass and fine us sort of makes an organized ride tough, but I guess it can be done on a smaller scale, but I would think it would take some planning, and it wouldnt hurt to have mostly all experienced riders who can find their way out of trouble if you know my point.
Maybe a ride past the state house in trenton wouldnt be a bad idea, but then again it could get ugly BR>
I am gonna keep an eye on this thread and will post any good local info I think will help.

If its a big ride I wouldnt worry much because there are plenty of riders in your area and there has to be one with some extra space on a trailer.
If you look at the thread I posted on earlier there is even someone in your town.

the spot your talking about in tuckerton sounds interesting. I'm down for getting together for a group ride. Where I ride locally can be fairly scetchy sometimes so I don't know if it would be a good idea or not. BTW, paragon sux. I've been there a few times. nothing but a ton of huge rocks and if you ever get out of 2nd gear some d-bag chases you down and gives you a "time out". I'm serious he totally gave me and a friend a time out. I laughed in his face and asked what time everyone had to be back for afternoon milk and a nap. I will never go there again.

As long as the weather stays warm I'm down to go riding. Keep me updated

I like trails, jumps, hillclimbs, but no mud. My preddy sinks like a stone in the mud. I have no airbox so I can't hit mud or water with any momentum

hey i ride in hammonton lots of jumps and trails. on cops or rangers at all.

Do you want to keep this only for NJ riders? How far are these places from NY - lets say the 87/287 x-change? We used to ride by the old Ford plant a looooong time ago. Haven't been there for many years and would imagine it's pretty built up by now.

Dirtdame......I will ride anywhere.....I am not far from the exchange....any places by you I would trailer up there if there areb
Sorry Yellow1 - there's not too many places by me. One or two but they're not legal and it's really just for the locals.so you have to know someone so you're not parked out on the road. I'm about an hr north of 87/287. I don't know if you ever heard of Lembo Lake www.atvny.com or Maybrook? Both were closed this summer but some people still ride at Maybrook.

i think i ride the watershed too, its the area between rt23 and edison road, and the majority of it is in sparta, i think
Posted by: quadsport230
i have never rode in LP mainly because i live on the othe side of town, an me and my dad figure why load up and go cross town, when we can go somewhere better. you know the tracks that run parallel to 23, i ride those, but i havent recemtly because they are being patroled now, but the trails that cross them arent really patroled you just need to stay away from the hiking trails and edison road

Where do you normally ride? I live in Oak Ridge. I ride in the Newark Watershed area off Rt 23.

I had to check the map to see where Edison Rd is. I have never ridden up that far before. The closest to that has been around the reservoir on Rt 23 and Oak Ridge Road.
I mainly ride behind Greenpond (which is where I got 'lost' today). I found some interesting trails before my temp light came on.
Is there a lot of good riding by Edison rd?

I live in Oak Ridge - What do you need to know?

There are lots of areas to ride. You can ride the entire ridge down Berkshire Valley Rd. The area is patrolled.
There are some spots on Berkshire Valley Rd where you can pull your car/truck off on to the shoulder. Some of these spots have trails leading to the mountain.
I'm not sure if that makes sense to you.

Hello fellas - new to the sport. I live in West Milford and am looking for decent places to ride. I currently ride in the trails behind Pinecliff Lake, which is very rocky. I am looking to buy a trailer so will be able to travel. Need some riding companions as riding solo can get old fast. Any ideas in the norther NJ area?

Hey Kodiak,
My friend used to live off Berkshire Valley Road and mentioned some decent areas to ride, I just cannot remeber where to access them - can you help me out? Do alot of people ride there? Any problems with the authorities? Thanks again.

Thanks Kodiak,
Does anyone have any info on Jungle Habitat - can you ride there? I also hear alot about the "power lines" off of Union Valley. On a quest to find the ultimate spot ... !
