What RDZ350 says............Bring some tires if you really want to see how well it does on the drag strip. My last time out everyone was on 4-snows or paddles............very few (aka;me) were rolling on stockers.

Posted by: macanic

I would start with 200 with the mods you have...

I know several guys that have less done than you and they are at 200 main..
If your head has been ported you might run a little leaner due to the efficentcy
of the porting..
maybe around 190 main...

Just do alot of plug chops...

Posted by: macanic

if your needle is adjustable (which it should be) you have a clip on the needle
It has slots above and below it....Most of the time you should start in the middle....
Just remember your needle adjustment is for mid throttle....

Try 45 pilot and 195 main keep your needle in stock postion...
That should be decent for all around ....winter and summer

The Spiderbike just might be making a debut at St Joe on the weekend of the 4th. I'll keep ya posted....

Hey,how are all of you guys doing?Been riding much?My frame is off to be painted now.I hope to have it back within a week or two.Jeff from F.A.S.T. is going to try to have my cylinders and carbs. back to me within 2 weeks. We're going to try to have the beast(LOL!) back at St.Joe in March. Can't wait to meet you guys again.Maybe a little racing?BR>
Oh yeah,I have a friend looking for a aftermarket blaster pipe.Anybody know of one?

Posted by: RDZ350

Did A&S do ya right?
I feel honored to talk to such a famous person.Having your quad in a magazine. My wife tried to get my banshee in dirt wheels, but I guess they thought it wasn't pretty enough.Your's is a very good looking banshee.Maybe mine will be in there someday.Oh well,I'm ready to do some racin'.Too bad my banshee isn't,but it will before too long.
"LET'S GET READY TO RUMBLE!"

Posted by: RDZ350

I'll be learning too.I'm going to be installing an over-ride.I've had the cases apart before, but I've never messed with the transmission.I've never rode a banshee with an over-ride either.Yeah,I'll be learning.Hopefully a little faster too.

Posted by: RDZ350

We could all pitch in and buy him about a 100 big macs.Maybe he'll gain a pound or two.Wish I had that problem.I think I could just drive by McDonalds and gain weight.LOL!Think he realizes he has a big bull's eye on him and that honda?hat bike sure is fast. Then again it might be slow when the rider isn't a light weight.LOL!J/K.

We'll get use to you saying:WHAT DID YOU SAY?
I got my frame back this morning. It was dark and the lights in my shop aren't great, but what I could tell it looks awesome.I'm suppose to be getting my swingarm possibly next week.It will be a +10 with wheelie bar mounts.I'll have the guy that painted my frame to paint it.SWEET!Been thinking of names for my banshee, but I think MONEY PIT would be the best way to describe it.img src="i/expressions/face-icon-small-happy.gif" border="0">

Hey catdriver,I can't get the PM's to work at the moment. What's the best deal you can get me on a lock-up and the clutch cover(red insert)?Don't want to put alot of money into my bike and lose all the power through a slipping clutch.

Posted by: RDZ350

I got the PM.Thanks.

Posted by: RDZ350

Guys,I'm fixing to be installing my K&T drag a-arms.They do not have grease aligmites(grease thingys,LOL).Should I put a little on the bolts before I install them?

Posted by: RDZ350

I've just started putting it back together.Pictures are too big to post on here.Need e-mail address if ya want to see them.If not, then I guess you'll just get to look at the back of it at St.Joe.LOL!!!!!!!!!!!

Posted by: RDZ350

Can't seem to be able to get them small enough for here.I'll post it on planetsand.

Posted by: RDZ350

I posted some on planetsand.Look under sandtoys and member photos.I posted it under "my banshee build".I go by 350RDZ on there.Hope to change that soon.

Is that a challenge?
What new mods have you done?I would like to see some pictures of it.

Posted by: RDZ350

What kind of tires are you using? If you're still using stock tires, you might want to try a set of 4-snows or pro-wedge 2.

Have you had a chance to race stewbing yet?
Have any pictures?

Posted by: RDZ350

Sent ya a PM Gillam.

Posted by: RDZ350

Hey stewbing,Gillam said you was slow.LOL!j/kust having a little fun.

I'm ready to see how everyone(including me) is going to be running this year.My wife's banshee will be pretty much just like last year except for some bling-bling and some 4-snows.It should do better with them than the holeshots.Better look out stewbing.LOL!I don't think you have anything to worry about.I want to hear tons of stories of how you tore them up in Louisiana.

Posted by: RDZ350

It amazes me just how much everyong is stepping up their quads. What use to be a very fast quad a few years ago will leave you eating sand now.You guys sure are costing me alot of money.LOL!

Scott that would be awsome if you come up...
See ya soon

That should be a good movie. Can I be in it too?I've got to really hurry to have it done by then, and I don't even have all my parts yet.

Posted by: RDZ350

Well,my swingarm and rear marvin shaw should be in today. My other set of spindle mounts with sand tires should be shipped today.I'll probably order my front marvin shaws today also.Still haven't got my parts back from Jeff.Hopefully soon.Hopefully also,it won't take my painter very long to get the swingarm painted. It didn't take long on my frame and it looks awesome to me.
With all the money I'm dumping into this banshee,I'm glad I have an understanding wife.

Posted by: RDZ350

I'm glad she's happy with how her banshee runs too. There's no way I could afford building two of them.I can't really afford mine, but I'm doing it anyways.

Posted by: RDZ350

Well the swingarm come in today.Has anyone ever heard of using "it looks like a brass round shim" instead of bearing for where it bolts up to the frame? It came with the brass but to me real bearings would be better.Swingarm looks good though. It's the same weight as a stocker.Of course it has an extra 10 inches, round housing, and wheelie bar mounts. Those wheelie bar mounts along with the wheelie bar(to be made) will definitely come in handy with the slicks I just bought.

Posted by: RDZ350

I'll do my best to be there on the 4th.I hate that I might not have mine done by then, but I'm sure going to try.Might have to take my wife's banshee and borrow an extra quad.

Posted by: RDZ350

Gillam,I m sure there alot of us that will help ya.I don't have a definite answer for ya.I'd have to see the plug after you run it.

Posted by: RDZ350

Most needles I've dealt with have 5 or 6 notches for the clip to possibly go.Let's say the clip is in the middle slot, and you raise the clip up one notch. With raising the clip this lowers the needle into the main jet. Thus making the mid range a little leaner.Lowering it will possibly help to run a larger main jet.If you try to run with the clip too low or the same as saying the needle too high with a big jet, then the motor gets too much fuel too quick and floods it out. This is just how I see it.Hope this helps.

Posted by: RDZ350

Why not try a larger jet(200-205) and see what happens? You might have to raise the clip a notch if you go with alot larger jet but just try the larger jet first. If it don't work, just put it back where it was.Try it,you might like it.

Posted by: RDZ350

I might be wrong, but I want to jet mine too rich at first just so I don't keep wondering if I can go richer. Then I can slowly start jetting down.

Posted by: RDZ350

Maybe this Saturday? I have been working way to much and need to do some riding.

Posted by: zmann

Yeah, stock tires won't get it done with the faster bikes down there.

Posted by: 400CatDriver

Dallas, we rode a few weeks ago but just about everything we have is broke right now. My motor parts were supposedly shipped today from A&S so hope to have that back together soon! Looking forward to some more racing too.

Pat

Posted by: 400CatDriver

Dallas, I'll let you know after I get my parts back. It's certainly been a learning experience though.

Pat

Posted by: 400CatDriver

With everything you're doing to yours you should be plenty fast. I'm hoping mine runs better after we get it back together. Sometime this year I plan on trying some alcohol carbs to see what that does for me. I don't want to be fastest....I just want to beat Matt once in a while. I'm thinking about getting him into an intervention program for anorexics and maybe melting some lead and pouring it into his frame when he isn't looking...

Posted by: 400CatDriver

Thats the point super chicken! I get one every time I run against him. Since I can't seem to lose weight the only logical thing to do is get Matt to gain weight. That would definitely help.

Yes, that Honda is fast. I've been wanting to get Daren to take my Banshee out there against Matt to see how it does.

Guess that depends on how you look at it. I finally got the parts back from Dan Holl. I ended up having to pay all the shipping and for a new piston and rings to replace the defective piston he sent me the first time. He sent my crank off to Crankworks and it had an interesting change when it came back. Looks like they ground off the end of one the rods. Guess that's how they balance them. I would rather have had a balanced crank and a non-defective piston the first time like I thought I was ordering. Sure would have been cheaper. Live and learn I guess.

We haven't put it all back together yet. Hopefully there won't be any new suprises.

Okay, I'm done whining for now. I was just excited to get it back! It has been an two month ordeal!

Posted by: 400CatDriver

I'm ready but the Banshee isn't. Maybe we'll have some good weather in a month or so.

I think back to a few short years ago when I was looking at my son's old Blaster sitting out in the shop. I thought "I wonder if this thing runs?" Unfortunately it did. I ran it around the property out here and kind of liked it. We soon added an Arctic Cat, then a Raptor, then a DS650, a Banshee, a 400EX, an Eton, another Banshee, and I've just ordered my 4th trailer and had to buy a diesel pickkup. Thinking back....I kind of wish that damned Blaster hadn't started....

...and we won't even talk about how much money we've spent on parts!
