You better have skid plates if you are planning on heading out to Paragon, we nick-named it "The Rock Garden" , lots of trails and you can get a day pass. Here is a link to their web site.

IMHO, Paragon was soo dusty and rocky. I really didn't enjoy my ride there.
I've never gone to TC.

Does anyone know where i could go around that area to ride.. I need to know ASAP, i have a 2006 YFZ 450 would like trails and jumps.. i was wondering if you could give me directions to these places, or an address.. thanks

Paragon is rocky, but might be worth visit, there is so much area to ride. Plus from what I understand there is riding along that mountain at a place called 8 bees.
Stop in the Uni Mart on 903 and ask, they probably can give directions to it....

I am just wondering which is better, Paragon or Tower City? Has anyone been to both? We just went to Tower City on Sunday and loved it. I would like to do Paragon next and am wondering how it compares? Any other good places to ride in that area?
Posted by: Megan
Thanks. I liked Tower City but have been getting mixed reviews on Paragon. We are going to ride some where else this Sunday and save Paragon for another time. If anyone out there has done both please let me know how they compare. Thanks.

Can you pay and just ride for the day or do you have to have a membership like T.C?

does 8 BEES have a web site. I'm looking to head up that way in May and am trying to decies between Rausch Creek, Tower City, Paragon or 8 Bees. The only crappy thing is that none of us have flags so we have to buy them to ride at Paragon if we go there How would you get there from the Frederick MD area.

Hey Meg
the place called 8 bees is great. alot of places to ride. we take 81 off at 924 i believe. Just started riding last year. they have a big get together on labor day dj and all. 4th of jusly and memorial day are good too. not expensive and you can camp out.

you pay $10 a day and ride all day
Posted by: TeeJay
I dont know if you read the previos notes but 8 bees is usually open you can ride on to parogan there. It is off 924 hazelton lots to do there.
Posted by: TeeJay
yeah the directions coming from allentown area 309 to 81 then get off hazelton,{believe its 927} make a left off the exit not even half a mile make left into an old industy like park, follow it all the way back almost probly 2 miles you will see 8 bees signs stop at the white house. you pay 10 a day. when you get on to 927 if you go to the gas station its to far stop there and they will give directions to get there. awesome place on memorial labor and fourth of july. they have a big party for labor day
Posted by: TeeJay
now that i look on previous threads it may be 903 off 81 i guess it depends which way your coming from.

8 bees is pretty low key. pretty much word of mouth. They do not have a website. I know you can ride on to paragon from there. not sure how to give directions from where you are coming from. Great place to go on labor, memorial, and the 4 of july. you can camp out. 10 a day, It is the same exit as the paragon. not even .5 mile of the exit.
Posted by: TeeJay
yeah you can ride at 8 bees allday and not get bored. they raised it from 10 to 25 a day. we just bought a trailer up there and still find new places to ride and have been going for years. we will be going up alot in the spring let me know if you ever want to meet up with us. there are a few rocky places but theres alot to just go too. located right before paragon on 924. if you go to the gas station you went to far.

Yes, it is all privatly owned land. They actually sold some of their land to paragon. they are right before paragon and have been there for generations. it is called 8 bees because there last name is Bonner and their are 8 sons. They keep it quite because all of the past problems but people come from NY and NJ they have great memorial day, 4th of july and labor day bashes. its a great time. i dont have their phone number i can get it from my dad though.

I've been to both and have to say Tower City is better..Paragon is ALL rock..I brought my raptor their and never got out of 4th gear..If all rock riding is your thing, then that's your place..Tower city also has alot of rock riding but at least you can mix it up their..and tower city will only give you a one time one day only day pass to check it out..Then they want 300 dollars a year to ride their..They must think your riding on gold or something..LOL..Paragon is like 30 dollars a day and you don't have to join..I think the people at Tower City are alot nicer also..If I had to pick one I'd go with tower city..I'd pay the 300 and get ripped off rather than keep paying for Paragon and not like the riding..I just picked up a new brute force so maybe I'll like the rocks a little better

Me and 8 buddies were just at tower city the other day. Its ok, not worth $40, but its not to bad. The guy at the desk is really nice. My complaint was that ALOT of the coal mines are for quads, and what trails they do have are VERY rocky and washed out. Also the trails are not marked at all, and their are TONS of dead ends and just all of a sudden lead onto illegal land or construction areas where you are not suppose to be. We spent most of the day trying to figure out where we could ride that had lots of connecting trails, and trying to get out of private land that we knew we where not suppose to be on. I ride at Michaux state Forrest and i love it, Its close to me also. LOL

this 8bees place sounds pretty nice. is it smaller than tower city? i really like that they let you pay for one day, instead of having to buy a $300 membership.
the towercity website said a guest pass is $40. it didn't say anything about them forcing a $300 membership on you next time you plan on riding there. is that really the case?? i would think they would lose a lot of business from people who might only be able to ride there two or three times a year that live a few hours away.
does this 8bees place have a phone number maybe? i can understand not having a website, but an address or phone number would make sense. it just seems kind of shady. is it all privately held land or something?

i would appreciate the number if you could get it for me. thanks...
