I use a combination of sweat, a weed-wip with a brush blade, a chainsaw, and an old Cub-Cadet with a belly mower. Once I've gotten things to the point where it's wide enough, I have an antique 2-cylinder John-Deer tractor with a scraper blade that I use to smooth out the ruts in the corners; it helps with the stumps, as well. I've found that it sometimes helps to do a walk-through with some orange flags beforehand; you can sometimes avoid the larger trees this way.
I've always wanted one of those DR Field & Brush mowers... They look like they'd save a lot of labor, but not lots of money, unfortunately.
Don't forget mosquito repellent!

I've used a simple bow saw for 1-2" trees. Anything smaller I just run over. Anything bigger I drive around. It's quite fun to snake a trail through the woods.

Half the fun is making the trail. Just ride.
It really depends on what your trying to drive over or through. It's kinda hard to mow a tree.

If you need to knock it down, I'd use a brush mower. I usually walk it with a handsaw and those clipper type things to take out any bigger stuff. Then I ride over it slowly for a few times to knock the rest down. Good luck!

I agree memento....we just run the small stuff over and go around the big stuff......we always say we are going to cut down some tree, and never do. When everybody shows up we just want to ride....I guess you can say we act like little kids.

Hey i'm making a new trail over at my woods and i was wondering if i should use a brush mower or a pull behind mowers or one of those things on tv but i think those would take to long so thnks for the info and i don't really have any money so yah thnks
