I'm not going to read all 9 pages of this post! Someone please PM me the date and location of the ride. ATV Connection Magazine may join you, if you don't mind, and if it doesn't conflict with other commitments.

This sounds like a great time!! Count me, and a few others in. I've done the Danbury to Iron River run on numerous winter rides. I'll help out any way I can (EMT) and bring a kit with some band-aids for anyone having to much fun. I might have a couple of cop buddies coming along so the drug thing is definately out . I'll see if I can get dave off his but and come along also. When we did the winter rides (60-100 riders) we met at the resturaunt next to the Hole In The Wall Casino (not all at once). Someone had called the resturaunt ahead of time and they set up a buffet for us (very friendly to ATVers). Correct me if I'm wrong;
May 15, 08:00-10:00, Danbury, WI.

Hey Dave, Glad to see you found it. Sat. May 15 in Danbury. Maybe we can do like the winter ride and stay at the chalets at Grand Casino Fri. night. A little black jack to pay for the new truck ehh. I told J and Kc about it and I know they want to go. I might event take John along and ride 2up. Let me know.
To let everyone know, the name of the casino in Danbury is "Hole in The Wall".

Dave, I cant belive you did not tell me about this!!
Posted by: MudStud
WOW, that is the same way I go!!!
There is a cool way back that I find only works in the winder due to the marsh you go over.. It brings you back to I think 129 and then you can jump on 8W back to Danbury...
Posted by: MudStud
NO
If you have a registerd ATV you don't need a sticker.
I have a WI sticker and I can ride in MN, and if you have a MN sticker you can ride in WI.
SOME parks or countys require a STATE or COUTNY sticker but there are very few..
Go to the DNR pages and call.
I assume if you have a valid AK sticker your already ok.

What did you ever do with your Trinity? What did you end up with for a pipe?
Posted by: MudStud
Yep,
I run pump gas.
Posted by: MudStud
I am considering the 707 or the 740 kits...
You will like your lectron...
I was going to get a higher piston but the fuel places up north suck.. I dont want to be stuck with no gas.... Thats why I went 11.5:1
Posted by: MudStud
IMS tank does not work with the lectron carbs. Otherwise, I would have one also. AZsand said he used 90degree banshee cable or something like that... Not really sure.
Posted by: MudStud
I dont have the cash for a dyno, I would if I knew anyone around here that could help me.. Never done one. I assume mid 50's.. The Piston/Cams and carb REALLY put out over stock..

DeanZ,, YOU ARE MORE THEN WELCOME. I would be very proud to ride with you!
I have un ending support you troops!

Whats wrong with it?
Are you selling it for the YFZ?
Posted by: MudStud
OK whodat. now you got me fired up here.... Draging me into it..
2 years ago your quad kept loosing its drive axles on the trail and you burried your quad VERY deep in the snow.
Yes, I also got burried in the snow, infact I was following you!
last year you rolled your quad trying to do what a sport quad can do. Now if I was following you again you might have rolled on me. and done more damage.
So, lets recap what you just spouted off..
The sport riders couldn't manage to stay on the trail - as in had to tow several times out of the snow
** I dont think you were on the trail when YOUR quad need to be pulled out each time...
Some kept running into the other quads - as in not very expereinced or respectfull drivers who had "command" over thier rides -
** I recall you taking quite the tumble with your wife on the quad trying to do what sport riders do. Climb hills and jump.
I don't care what a person rides - as long as....
They are skilled enough not to bust parts off of my rig or injure others
** recap your tumble and damangin your rig and others..
they dont delay the rest of the pack because they cant skrew off and drive at the same time
** Lets see, I helped you 2 times shove that polaris axle back in due to your lift kit... Does that count as a delay?
are respectfull to the issues of unneccessary damage and being a bad example ruining it for the rest of us.
** You were off the trail when you got stuck?
There is your flame.. Ya wanna go then hushup and showup... Dont start this crud here.

I would be up for a Soo Line round trip. I was going to bring a group up this fall and ride it but after finding out a round trip can be done in a weekend I dont think we will be spending our fall week riding up there. I am spending a week in Colorado this late june early July rideing and if it doesent fall within that week I would be interested in trying to make it.
Posted by: 99500scrambler
I had heard the Soo Line was boring as well thats why I most likely wont be using it as a week vacation trip but Thought it would be a good central point to ride and cover some new ground. I have never riden any where in Mn before so realy anything is good. Wisconsin is too far for me but im only 1 person so if that is where it winds up being than so-be it. As far as utility riders not being able to keep up, That depends on the rider. My main ridding budy has had only sport machines in the past but just got rid of his Raptor and got a Grizz. He would be real hard to out run and would be handy to have along for a tow truck. Anouther person I often ride with has a Sportsman and he is just plain nutz on that thing. I dont know if either of these two could make it or not but if they did they would definatly not slow us down. Anouther thought would be to have the fast and slow riders split up and go in two groups so no one has to wate for the slow pokes. Then if someone got stuck and there was no ute around to pull them out it would be just a matter of time till one showed up.
Posted by: 99500scrambler
Where exacly is Danbury? One person said it was close to Brainerd but then anouther said it was buy Nemijie State forest and acording to the map I have the two are not even remotely close to each other. Is Danbury in Mn or Wisconsin? I am a strong 3+ hours south west of Mineappolis on hyway 60. if it gets to far away it will becme more than a weekend trip. That would not be a problem most likely but I need plenty of warning ahead of time to get a day off work.
Posted by: 99500scrambler
Count me in if its in May. I will be bringing the wife and posobly 1-4 freinds. It would be nice to set a date in stone so I can get it marked off at work as far in advance as posible. We have been working 6 days a week and 63 hours a week. I would vote for May 15-16 or the following weekend.
Posted by: 99500scrambler
Count me and the wife in for May 15-16. I have been talking to a bunch of freinds and there are a bunch that would like to come. Probobly close to 7 of us totale maby a few more. Is there a hotel close or would camping be esier. One of us has a camper and I could rent one for the weekend if that would be a better rout than the hotel.
Posted by: 99500scrambler
Its looking like there will be 10 -12 of us coming up from this little corner of Iowa now.I am not sure if we will all come up as one big convoy or not, but I am going to try and leave Friday afternoon sometime. It is abought a 3 1/2 hour drive to the south side of the citys from here and then however far threw the citys plus anouther 1 1/2 north so I dont want to get up at 3 am to leave. Something I never thought to ask is how hard are the trails. Afew of us are bringing our wifes and mine is a beginer. She just got her Grizzly in late October. Is she going to be able to handle the trails and have fun or is she going to be wishing she dident come?
Posted by: 99500scrambler
Thanks, thats what I was hoping.

Funny there is all this fodder about sport bikes and utes, but at the last Nemadji spring ride I was on -
Kids with sport bikes didnt show up in numbers -
maybe because they were still waiting to get a drivers license. like 16 utes to 2 sport rigs.
The sport riders couldn't manage to stay on the trail - as in had to tow several times out of the snow
Some kept running into the other quads - as in not very expereinced or respectfull drivers who had "command" over thier rides -
The sport riders tore the hell out of one area that was "fun to play in" - read as doing schittys until they were dizzy - wow wee
I don't care what a person rides - as long as....
They are skilled enough not to bust parts off of my rig or injure others -
they dont delay the rest of the pack because they cant skrew off and drive at the same time
are respectfull to the issues of unneccessary damage and being a bad example ruining it for the rest of us.
So flame on boys - my shields are up and at my age - I don't give a krap.....lol

Denial is not just a river in Egypt....lol
Hey guys - its ok... but there are enough references in the first few pages of this thread to make one question being welcomed on a utility machine or not.... And hey Lep - I've ridden with you and you aint no rocket ship pilot...lol
On Wed January 21,Lep7MM posted - I would be willing to run it if we have all sport machines going. I have ridden with utes before, but would like to run with only sports this time around so everyone can keep the pace
On Wed January 21,BartlettRacing posted - this sounds bad but you must almost make it a sport or utility get together ..
On Wed January 21,mxquadracer posted - I know I've been giving the ute thing some heavy thought. I know that they really cant keep up... any utes that want to come but not push their skill ability won't have to worry about going too fast.
On Wed January 22,Lep7MM posted - Knowing how PreddyFast and myself ride, I doubt if any ute's could keep up.
On Sun January 25, BlackRaptor posted - This will be a sport quad only trip correct?
On Mon January 26,mxquadracer posted - But I do see what you mean about it being alot funner with only sports,
On Thu February 05, Black Raptor posted - Question. Would a Trail Blazer 400 2-stroke be able to ride? It's not a true sport.
Or wouldn't it be able to keep up?
On Thu February 05 MudStud posted - just dont plan on standing around with 4x4 playing...

In the past, several of us from the Connection have gotten together at Nemadji State Forest. Now that the laws have changed, I see that desire has slowed. I was there last fall and had a great time.
One thing I thought would be kind of fun, would be to run the Soo Line from Genola to Cass Lake and back (about 400 miles total). That would take a weekend, but would be fun.
One other place I haven't been is to the Gilbert ORV area. Either way, I would be up for a another ride. Bigger groups can be ok, but smaller groups of equal riding abilities, IMHO, are more fun.
I am planning on doing some safety courses late April and early May. I'll check the reg's to see when the majority of the trails open this year and keep that weekend open.
Posted by: LEP7MM
I would be willing to run it if we have all sport machines going. I have ridden with utes before, but would like to run with only sports this time around so everyone can keep the pace.
I am working as much overtime before this summer so hopefully I can invest in another machine. I am actually considering selling the DS and buying a YFZ and a Prairie 700. I believe the P-700 would keep up just fine. I have a 14 year old that might want to join. Not much riding experience now, but that will change by the time we can ride.
Posted by: LEP7MM
Bob,
I have heard that about the Soo Line. I would be willing to give a whirl regardless. But I have heard even more good talk about Danbury. Maybe we should give that a try instead.
Posted by: LEP7MM
Keep in mind that some of those areas are closed until May. I haven't looked at the new regulations to find out when the trails open this year, but that will be a big deciding factor of when and where.
Certain times will work better for me since I will be conducting several safety training courses throughout the state this spring. None are scheduled as of yet, so I am still able to plan around a weekend.
As far as where I would like to go, the Gilbert area wouldn't be bad, even though I'm not a fan of the red clay. Nemadji has been a fun ride each time I have been there, but encountered 20 horses the last time there. Where ever we go, I want to be able to let the DS stretch it's legs. So, personally, I like the idea of the 2 separate groups if we all congregate in one area.
Knowing how PreddyFast and myself ride, I doubt if any ute's could keep up.
Posted by: LEP7MM
I believe it's about 1600 acres. People I have talked to have said that you can ride all day without seeing the same trail twice.
Posted by: LEP7MM
I would definitely try to get to Danbury. I live 20 minutes south of BartlettRacing, and I don't mind the drive. I think Nemadji is just across the border from Danbury and I have made that a day trip. 6 hours driving round trip and 8 hours riding. I can handle it.
Posted by: LEP7MM
we're talking about Danbury Wisconsin. It is right across the border from Hinckley, MN.
Posted by: LEP7MM
that seems to be the majority of preference (sport quads only).
I hope the date of the ride falls on an open weekend for me. My oldest daughter is heading to Jackson SC for basic training in the National Guard this summer after she graduates from High School. So I'll be heading to SC sometime this summer as well.
Posted by: LEP7MM
Bartlett,
I would be game for that idea. I will have to look at my schedule to see which weekend is best.
Is there a designated trail/legal ditches that run from the campground to Danbury?
I might even have room on my puny trailer to load up some firewood to bring along.
Posted by: LEP7MM
I may be trying to sell the DS before the ride and buy a YFZ. Might be looking to try my hand at racing before I get too old. Oh man, another year just around the corner.
Posted by: LEP7MM
I guess I will have to get a new card to carry. Amazing how they can't call the numbers in like a cars plate. I have the plate on the back, but the cheap sticker they give you to carry is a joke IMHO.
Posted by: LEP7MM
I would have to think about the price. I see the standards are going low to mid $5K, so that would put my '03 Baja a little lower than that.
Posted by: LEP7MM
I have done one class so far and helped with another. We have one planned for March in Winthrop. It's not registered yet as we're still in the planning stage. I plan on possibly doing 4 other classes throughout the state where there are no instructors.
MudStud,
Sorry man, you seem to keep a close eye on these forums and I was actually surprised that you haven't found it sooner. I've been busy working as much overtime as I can, so most of my posts are during work.
PreddyFast,
I may take you up on the accomodations for the weekend of the ride. I will figure on starting at the campgrounds, or where ever we plan on gathering.
Posted by: LEP7MM
doesn't WI close their trails through May until things dry out? Late April might work. May be a little cold (if it's like it is now).
Posted by: LEP7MM
I say right after May 15th. I found out yesterday I wasn't chosen for a turkey permit and that would have been the weekend that I would have gone. Plus I have to tear my front end apart to see what I have to replace.
Posted by: LEP7MM
once you hit MN, it will be at least a 3 hour drive to get across the state. But hey, if you're willing to camp for the weekend, come on over. You're welcome to ride with us if you're willing to put me onto some pheasants this fall j/k.
Posted by: LEP7MM
I wish I would be, but doubt if I would get the DS fixed and sold by then.
Posted by: LEP7MM
the bushings came loose again and the ball joints have a lot of play in them. Maybe they just need to be tightened. But the last time I rode it, the front was all over the place. If I have to replace the ball-joints, it will be over $400 before I'm done. Unless someone knows of a place cheaper than the dealer?
Posted by: LEP7MM
here's a thought.
For the number of riders that are going to show, maybe we should try to get ATV Mag TV (not ATV TV w/ Doug Meyer) there to do some coverage of the ride and throw a pitch for the biggest and best ATV site on the web. ATV Mag TV is affiliated with ATV Sport and ATV Magazine.
Opinions on this?????

Hmmm, now it sounds like the time to call the buds with the timing lights and hold the first annual (or bi-annual) 5 state regional dirt drags. Anyone interested?
Posted by: PreddyFast
Count me In!!!!! Need to get the Predator out for a good leg stretching. Will depend on what weekend it falls on , due to the wife working every other weekend. Going to have a radar run this weekend should get the cobwebs out of the machine. Keep this thread running and nail down a date and I'll try to make it.
Posted by: PreddyFast
So how far out in the future are we planning this thing? Yet this winter or wait till spring? Did some river riding this last weekend, and will be at it again this weekend, after I re-install about 400 ice studs!!!!! Had almost 250 per rear tire, the radar runs and the river run tore 90% of them out of the tires, have to re-plan the pattern I guess. Keep us informed about this ride. My in-laws have property 7 miles from a trail head in Nemadji, so a Minnesota trail opener ride would be great, I could house a few people if they wanted to stay for a whole weekend. Any questions? Let me know.
Posted by: PreddyFast
Count me in, even though my wife works that weekend!!!!! (Darn Nursing Homes) I'll just have to see if the in-laws will watch the kids for me. I will do some recruiting in Our ATV Club , maybe I can get 3-4 more guys to come along. The last 2 weekends we put 20+ miles on the river, was fun the first weekend just bare ice, the last weekend was tough riding with 6+ inches of snow on the ice, and having to stop and clean frozen slush out of the rims and rotors. Oh well at least it's riding time on the wheeler, not just collecting dust in the garage.
Posted by: MNRAP
I am in if I get my quad back from Glamis by then.. pretty sure I'll have it in MN. Also, have a few riders on Raps and a DS650 that would like to go.
Danbuy.. I still remember the day I almost hit a full grown black bear standing on its hind legs right in the middle of the trail.. that critter sure stood its ground.

One question
Can you and the Mudstud still fuel up at a local gas station on the trail in Danbury and not have to nurse it the whole way back to the car to prevent a hole in the top of the piston?

I've had my fair share of that when running race porting and high compression on my 1200 cc tripple piped Yamaha power vavle jet ski engines.. unless you have a very trustworthy source for your high octane fuel..your taking big chances.. I'm to the point of sacraficing some acceleration for reliability and ease of re-fueling out in the middle of no where.. its tough enough at times to find 91 out on the trails for this YFZ..
anyway.. not to get sidetracked from the intent of the thread.. I'm really looking forward to Danbury this May.. a fantastic place for riding and Barlett knows those trails like no one else!

I think WS closes down the snowmobile trails for quads sometime in the spring and leaving from Danbury in mid- May may not
allow Iron River as a destination..correct me if I'm wrong.. Well you know those trails like the back of your hand and I've easily put over 100 miles on in a day leaving out of Danbury (not including the restricted summer snowmobile trails) so I'm sure there will be enough for everyone that attends.

I am racing the next day at kellog, but i will still be there. SHould be fun. I usually go trail riding at willow river ( alot of woods trails there), but am looking forward to riding at a new area.

someone should mention the may 15, 8 a.m., danbury casino parking lot, atv ride on the armca district 23 message board. A shyt load more people would show up then.

Hi, I don't plan on riding with you guys, but there is some information I would like. My wife and I spend our summers up in MN. I have a AR. atv sticker on my atv and will be getting a MN.sticker also. We plan on spending afew days over in WIS. doing some riding. Do we need a WIS. sticker and is it legal to ride double over there? Thanks in advance for any help that you can give us.

I would be interested in joining in on this get together.
Posted by: BlackRaptor
I'm confused as well.
were is this place?
Posted by: BlackRaptor
This will be a sport quad only trip correct?
Posted by: BlackRaptor
My dad is a National Guard Recruiter out of Mankato.
That's cool she's going into the guard. Hope she enjoys it.
All sports quads will be cool. I may be able to get a friend to come with but i'm guessing i'll be coming alone.
Posted by: BlackRaptor
Question. Could a bike ride these trails or there quad only?
Posted by: BlackRaptor
mxquadracer maybe if your dad can't go maybe one of us guys can pick you up on the way if it''s not far out of there way.
Posted by: BlackRaptor
Looks like a lot of people are going to show for this ride.
Posted by: BlackRaptor
Me too. I think classes will be out by then. I hope.

Awesome.
I'm pretty sure Me and my dad will come on my two newer quads.
Not sure if I trust the old honda.
And maybe a friend on a TB400
So maybe 3 here.

Anyone know anything about this?
Am I the only utility rider in the group? How are you guys gonna keep up?hr>
I have my Xplorer that my dad will ride so you aren't the only utility.
Have a couple 4X4's then just incase someone gets stuck.

It being fishing opener doesn't bother me I don't fish.

40 riders. wow this is going to rock.
Posted by: BlackRaptor
How tight are the noise laws there?
I was thinking about piping my raptor and doing an air box mod but I know this will make it pretty loud.
Posted by: BlackRaptor
Wow more and more people are going to show.
Thats awesome.
Looks like the turnout is going to be huge.
Posted by: BlackRaptor
A lot of that stuff you posted is from when he were still trying to decide what type of riding we wanted.
I could be wrong. if I am guys speak up.
But if I remember right that was back in the early planning when we really didn't know what we wanted to do and were just toying around with ideas.
I'm bringing my Xplorer 400 utility along for a friend or my dad to ride.
All are welcome. It's going to be a lot of fun.

i would think about a trip to wisconsin..........i wont ride in minnesota............iron river is good......open 26 is a good play area along the trails........maybe ill have 2 sport quads and 2 utilities by then
Posted by: minnrider
Danbury sounds like a good plan........i havent ridden there yet.sport quads is the plan?have to know a date far enough to get a room at the casino............
Posted by: minnrider
wisconsin trails are closed march 15 thru may 15........and then closed again oct 15 thru dec 15
Posted by: minnrider
im gonna try to make it with anywhere from 3 to 8 machines............is there enough room for all of us to park at the campground?starting to sound like quite a few vehicles..............sounds like a great time
Posted by: minnrider
i think that sounds like a good idea lep7mn.could be a good way to get some positive exposure about atvs out to the public.

id be up for a ride, not sure how far you are from me (sioux falls sd) but if its not really far north or east id be able to swing over for a weekend and do some riding

Hey barlett, just wondering the dates. There were a lot of pages of posts and I caught the directions and I have never ridden in Minn. I might be able to bring up a few people if the riding is worth it. thanks.

Thanks, so is the riding mostly trails? Any techincal fast stuff, jumps, etc. I need to get out of Iowa and do some real riding
Oklahoma, just ask my boss why there wasn't any work, so I could afford to go. If you are planning to go again just hollar. Kyle is a great guy down there, and I have rode with jiminok also. Maybe next time you can big air it again so I can see.

Everyone's invited! I wanna get a group ride together for right after winter, so everyone can show off their winter wonders and upgrades. I don't know if it should be after school lets out or before? I'd like to get together at least 15 people to go riding. I'm still not sure about location yet, but I was thinking somewhere in Minnesota around mille lacs or something. But would like to get in at least 60 miles or so in. If anyone is interested at all or wants to suggest some ideas about dates, locations, or anything go ahead and post. Is anyone interested? I'd like to hear from you if you are at all. I don't care if you got a sport bike or utility or what, I'd like to get alot of both so all of the mudders will have someone to ride with and all the balls to the walls guys like me will have someone to mess around with. I don't care where you live as long as you're willing to ride. I know there's alot of mn/wis/sd/nd/iowa/canada people on here that are close enough, if we could find a central point for all of us that'd be cool. I don't know about the rest of you but I'm tired of not being able to open my quad up for a while, and want to go riding REALLY bad. It doesn't look like we're going to get any snow any time soon. IF ANYONE HAS ANY IDEAS DON'T HOLD BACK. I figured I'd post this early so we could have time to get everything figured out.
Posted by: mxquadracer
sounds cool. can I get anymore info on the trails, I haven't ridden them before. vortec is that too far from you???
this what you're talking about? anybody else wanna come? I see what you're saying on the not too huge of a group thing though. I got two-three guys that might wanna come depending on the weekend
Posted by: mxquadracer
I know I've been giving the ute thing some heavy thought. I know that they really cant keep up, but one of us is bound to get stuck and its nice to have a 4 x 4 with. One of my buddies has a wolverine (sport-ute obviously), this might solve this whole dilemna, if we can find a weekend he could come. He can keep up with us pretty well. He's an extremely good rider, so I don't think he would have much of a problem keeping up. He might be buying a pred soon though and he'd prob rather ride that, I'm not sure. Welcome to everyone else who signed up. As for the trail thing, I had heard that too but wasn't sure if it was true. Can I get some more opinions on this please?
Posted by: mxquadracer
the two separate packs thing was what I was thinking too. I really dont think the utes could keep up, sometimes they can and sometimes they can't. With the two packs thing, any utes that want to come but not push their skill ability won't have to worry about going too fast. My stepdad, although he is a ways into thirties, couldn't keep up and he's a crazy mofo (on a 425 utility). Wide open he could but any jumps or anything it was pretty bad. Where the sports could easily clear, he'd try to jump and almost get bucked right off his quad. Alright so I'm thinking central minnesota or something??? not really sure. MINNRIDER why can't you ride in Minnesota????????? And I'd also like to throw a month out there so we can begin narrowing down a weekend. I think month along with a relative location should be decided as soon as possible. I know I started early but I'd still like to get a base idea down of roughly what month, so I can start telling people when and where.
I think our options for locations that we've thought about are:
1. Gilbert ORV area
2. Nemadji state forest
3. Soo line trail (some people said was too boring, but others didn't care)
4. Danbury
5. Black River Falls (IN WISCONSIN)
MONTHS:
A. Late March
B. Early April
C. Late April
D. Early May
E. Late May
F. Early June
G. Late June
H. Early July
I. Late July
J. Early August
K. Late August
If you guys want to toss in a vote for which locations, like I have listed above except in the order of which you'd like. And same for months go ahead. If you have any locations to add just put them in your list.
Posted by: mxquadracer
alright cool. about how many miles is that gilbert area ride?
Posted by: mxquadracer
I'm leaning more towards Danbury right now, everyone seems to be from southern minnesota, Iowa, or South Dakota, and Gilbert is WAY far north. Jep do you think you could make it to a Danbury run? I don't want to exclude you cuz you were one of the first people to post. If we needed to we could set up two rides, one in Danbury and the other in Gilbert or something. What about all of you SD and Iowa people, do you guys think you could make it to Danbury?. Now that I think about it I think I've ridden the Danbury trails but I'm not sure.
Posted by: mxquadracer
Danbury of what state, I'm confused now too. I think there's trails that go through Danbury Minnesota, but I don't know about Iowa or wis, wow I'm confused. now I'm completely lost is there even a danbury minnesota? I looked earlier and thought I saw it, but now I can't even find it on a map
Posted by: mxquadracer
Posted by: mxquadracer
alright are we doing a whole weekend thing??? what's everyone else think about Danbury? alright I know where that is now, it's like 100 miles exactly from my house I think I'd be willing to give it a shot.
Posted by: mxquadracer
crap... I'm not sure how I'm gonna get a ride. If it's only sports, my stepdad won't have a quad too ride unless I can talk him into getting one before we go. But I do see what you mean about it being alot funner with only sports, if my dad had a sport, I'd be on the other end of this. My neighbor and his bud have a wolvy which could keep up, and a pred though. My stepdad I think would like to go, but maybe he won't want to, and my neighbor will take me????????? Well this sucks, I'm not sure what I'm gonna do yet. I'll talk to him and see. But yeah, not quite 16 yet. My stepdad would like to get a ds, but doesn't really have the money right now. Weekend trip sounds cool though. I'll figure out something, either that or not go. who knows? the guy with the wolvy is prob gonna buy a yfz soon here though. talk to you later, I gotta go work on my website. oh and Bartlett is your ds legal (db level), or are we just gonna haul @$$ when the cops come? j/k
Posted by: mxquadracer
lep, how much do you think you'd sell this ds for? Bartlett that's cool. I was serious about the question but was just kidding about the running thing. Most dnr guys are pretty cool and don't care My dad's selling his xc600, but I think he wants to get a boat
Posted by: mxquadracer
Hey LEP, have you taught those dnr safety classes in minnesota before??? i got my license from first one that they did in Elk River.
Posted by: mxquadracer
alright I figured I'd get rid of that. anyways, I think Cory (my neighbor) is gonna have to take me. hopefully he can get that yfz. if you read what I said early you read it, if not, oh well. It still kinda cracks me up though.
Posted by: mxquadracer
September? that's like 8 months away. I was thinking late may or early June. what about the rest of u guys?
Posted by: mxquadracer
mudstud
you bringin' the wife?

so... no girls... or were you joking??? but yeah, they have to be able to keep up, unless you guys think no girls. I just didn't know if we were making this a total sausage fest or what, j/k.
Posted by: mxquadracer
honda buster, I'm not sure about maps but you could check out wisconsin dnr site, I forgot what it was but just do a search for wisconsin dnr. Bartlett, your wife sounds like should could kick my...butt. Ridbobcat, I figured that's what you were saying but I was just wondering with the wording, it's hard to tell how people are saying stuff when it's typed I think I'm open for either date but I gotta talk to Cory. I'll throw in a vote for around may15th but I'd be open for either. Jeez so what's the total head count? so I think here's the almost no matter whats, this isn't including someone else unless you state so, if you are please say so:
Mudstud & wife= 2
Bartlett and others= 3
me and prolly stepdad now = 2
Black Raptor = 3
ridbobcat = 1
LEP = 1
Hondabuster = 1
86LTR = 2
preddyfast = 3-4
starky = 1
mnrap = 3
Suzukiz400rdr = 1
How bout these guys, can I get a confirmation on whether you're going or not. I figured yes but you havent posted in a while:
Vortec57 = 1
99500 scrambler = 1-4
xscream = 1
minnrider = 1
2fast4u400ex = 1
So I think that's a grand total of 29-32 possible riders...wow. That's like the 50th time I've edited this.
Posted by: mxquadracer
I think he kind of did this himself, but if not I'd like to nominate Bartlett as the ride leader It's nice to see more guys hopping on board. If all these people actually show up it'll be quite a ride. So I guess we're bringing utes, now? That's cool, I was gonna say why not just split up.
Posted by: mxquadracer
oh, and obviously my dad will prolly be on a ute, but I'm really close to getting him talked into the ds.
Posted by: mxquadracer
all right, we'll try to find a weekend you can come. Don't feel bad about not knowing the trails, there's plenty, including me that haven't ridden there yet.
Posted by: mxquadracer
I know Bartlett, I was just playing dude. How'd you guys place last year??? This is gonna be cool, wonder if WISTECH is gonna go? I might be able to get him to bring his dale, but he's got that dinli factory ride or whatever, he said he might go if he's open that weekend, once we figure out a relative date I'll pm him. I'd like to see a dale do a whole day ride, I've seen them at the track before but that was only for like 3 laps. They're nice looking bikes. I'd like to see how they bang the trails.
Posted by: mxquadracer
yeah like Bartlett said that is a TENTATIVE date. Remember weather and many other things could still affect the final date. Also May 15th is fishing opener thats gonna cause problems for alot of people isn't it???? It isn't for me just wondering about everyone else. So where are we gonna start the ride, I know date will fluctuate but where are we gonna start at??? Are we gonna have enough room for parking?
Posted by: mxquadracer
welcome aboard warrior. Bartlett, mudstud, or mnrap any of you guys got any recent dynoes??? I wanna see what kind of numbers you're pulling.
Posted by: mxquadracer
so no one has a problem with it being on fishing opener??? It's not a problem at all for me, I'm just asking
Posted by: mxquadracer
difficulty wise she should be fine and have a great time. I've ridden a bunch of trail heads in Minnesota and Wisconsin, just not Danbury. All of the other trails were as hard as you want to make them. There shouldn't be anything a beginner can't handle easily, and I'm sure with how many people we got going there will be AT LEAST one other person that will go slower, and if not, which I'm really sure there will be, you can always wait up for her. She shouldn't have a problem, definitely bring her with, she's gotta learn sometime, and I can almost guaruntee she'll have a blast!

it's about 1hour north of the twin cities . take 35w untill the hinkly casino turn, drive past the casino and go about 25 miles on that road , this will bring you directly into the town of danbury , come to the fourway stop sign and look to your left ,that is the casino ! campgrounds are directly behind the casino ......

that was a pretty good review. We all greatly support what you're doing deanz. It's cool, we're still getting more and more people joining in, this is gonna be a blast. Alright to review for you scooter cuz there was a lot of posts but here it goes... alright we got about 40 people or so that have said that they would like to join in including forum members bringing family and friends. We are definitely going to Danbury Wisconsin, and the date will most likely be the weekend of the 15th. So we can hope for good weather. It kind of sounds like everyone has that locked in so... I guess the 15th. Directions and everything are above. I know it's alot of posts to read, but it really only will take like 5 minutes to read through them all, and it would be worth it to make sure you get all of the details. We gotta get a pic of all the quads lined up before the ride starts, that'd be a cool pic
Posted by: mxquadracer
I guess we won't know how many people until we get there huh. But yeah everybody who doesn't know bring all of the protective gear you have (no matter how dumb it looks), and a change of clothes would help too, you never know if it's gonna be wet. Last ride my stepdad didn't have goggles, and by the end of the ride his eyes looked like they were ready to bleed. So I gave him mine for about 20 minutes, and... it sucked. Like Bartlett said Dennis Kirk is pretty close to the trails so anything you don't have I'd recommend pickup up before the ride starts, or I can almost guaruntee some uncomftorability. Yeah we could have a trail boss, I suppose who's, ridden the Danbury trails??? Yeah we should definitely get some bar reservations and stuff and just give them a heads up that we're on our way, otherwise we'll have a big shortage of food. We should try to reserve some campgrounds too. Bartlett, do you know what kind of places are on the way? We should probably have a relative location for meeting everynight, just incase someone gets lost, lol. I can picture it now, 40 muddy, stinky atv riders come pulling up to a little 3 employee bar, lmao. But yeah, everyone's responsible for their machines, and themselves anything that breaks is your responsibility.
Posted by: mxquadracer
yeah you're right scramdaddy. so are we all meeting and leaving at one time or showup anytime between 8 and 10 and start riding whenever you want??? I guess we could have an original start time when the first group leaves, then anyone who wants to show up a little later can. oh and everyone who hasn't yet read the site thief or whatever thread that was posted in the bomb forum, it's also a HOT THREAD on the today page. I'd say some of those same things apply, it's sad to say it but it's true, you never know.
Posted by: mxquadracer
Alright that sounds good to me. What are we thinking for campgrounds on Saturday night? anyone bringing either of the two semi-new 450's???
Posted by: mxquadracer
we're talking about the Hinckley Grand Casino right??? haha, I like the new avatar Bartlett, couple days ago when I saw it, it wasn't moving and looked like a guy playing the guitar or something, lol.
Posted by: mxquadracer
Bartlett how many quads are you holding up in your garage right now???
Posted by: mxquadracer
lmao, you dont gotta tell me, and I only have one quad, lol. Are we just ditch riding right out from the casino and going towards the trails, and what camp sites are we staying at?
Posted by: mxquadracer
alright thanks for clearing that up Bartlett I've never ran Danbury before But you said we're meeting at the campgrounds too right, atvrulz said the Danbury Casino parking lot? atvrulz are you a member over on cannondalerider? did you pick up the moto new or used?
Posted by: mxquadracer
wow, I totally missed that whole ride, wtf??? What was the date on it? How many riders? what you gonna be riding this time Dave, glad to see you finally found the thread?
Posted by: mxquadracer
hehe. I'll post up pics on my site, but no one goes on there yet, lol. I think there'd probably be enough room at the grounds but we should probably give them a call, just incase. This is gonna be pretty sweet. Isn't there mx races on the 16th??? I don't know what I'm gonna do about that. I'm thinking about trying my hand at racing here, with my stock pos. I know I'm gonna get wasted but it'll still be fun anyways. Bartlett you wanna try giving the grounds a heads up? I'd do it but I really don't know who to call
Posted by: mxquadracer
jeez, I need some new Holeshots. My tires are stock and I do alot of street tricking, including burnouts. lol, I just got out of the snow after about an hour and a half. Hopefully I can get some stuff before this ride, but I need some $$$. How much does it cost to camp at the grounds per night? kind of just trying to keep this on top but... oh well
Posted by: mxquadracer
we gonna make another ride for right before the trails close too?
Posted by: mxquadracer
Come on guys I can't be the only one throwing out completely off-topic posts just to keep this on top...
Posted by: mxquadracer
from what was said back on page 2 or somewheere a while back I think you'll be fine noise wise.
Posted by: mxquadracer
yeah. his is a SMALL track, only like 3 acres. In about a month or so we're buying a bobcat and adding another 6 acres into the mix just for fun, lol. He'd let you ride but it wouldn't even be worth the trip. Once we're done adding on it prolly would be. He did what he could with what little land he had, so they're small technical jumps just enough to mess around on. We are gonna be trying to make ours as big as possible. Prolly alot of em will be about 30-40ft, and I'm gonna try to get him to build a steep 80ft double or something for freestyle or whatever, but with the little stepbrothers running around I don't know if he will it's hard to say? We're probably going to have a big step-up coming out of a big hill in our woods. You could always try it out, we basically live in the middle of nowhere. I've been trying to find places myself but there's not many. If anyone know of any besides my yard speak up. On atvtv about a year back they showed an indoor race track in Coon Rapids small little oval track with a jump or two, but it's something nice for winter. Anyone know anything about it or see the show when they showed it? I'll post up when my track is done
Posted by: mxquadracer
do you know if that place is still even open??? cool might as well toss up a poll on the ages/what quads too
Posted by: mxquadracer
good idea ken !!!, But im tired of getting smoked, lol Definitely start getting it set-up this little thread took off, a five state drag get together would be sweet.
Posted by: mxquadracer
you can only vote once can't you. I've tried voting twice before and it only shows the results the next time you go in there.
Posted by: mxquadracer
wow, this thread is gonna be like that thread over on exriders. The mn riders thread that's not about this ride. I think it's over 100 pages, it's nuts. People will post on there for a while then it will die out for a week or two then come back strong again.
Posted by: mxquadracer
???did I miss something??? I think we have all gotten together very well, and haven't heard one negative word towards anyone throughout this entire thread. At the beginning we weren't sure if the guys on utilities would be able to keep up on the straight aways and on the big bumps, but we felt it would be much funner if there was no discrimination towards anyone. A warm welcome has been brought to everyone who has said they would like to join. If I missed something and someone was flaming utilities feel free to post up the comment you are referring too. Everyone is welcome no matter what size, age, skill level, sex, whatever and I haven't seen any fighting in this thread. You and any of your friends are welcome to come and we are more than happy to see more riders coming, what you are riding has nothing to do with anything, the only reason we have been talking of what people will be riding and the like is because we are all very excited to get to ride and are all frankly tired of winter. May you please inform us what "flaming" we did in the first place so we can hopefully not "flame on" anymore? I'd like to think we are all on a muturity level high enough to respect the land that is not ours at the very least. What we do on our land is one thing, but public land is another. No one wants to hurt the image of the sport. The childish joking on these forums is all in fun, and most of it is between those of us who consider others friends. I can assure you the immaturity is only online and all due respect will be given on the ride or any kids will be slapped up. We all just want to go out and have a fun time, nothing more. Hopefully you will join us.
Posted by: BlueOne
any good riding in the Deadwood area? a group of us from Rochester are thinking about going there in July and would like any information we can get? Thanks!
Posted by: BlueOne
First Danabury has good riding for you sport people, good trails of sand and nice sliding, not alot for 4x4. The Gilbert area is 1200 acres of all kinds of riding. alot of red dirt, that stains ever thing it comes in contact with!hills, good trails, play areas also. Then to Price county in Wis. on the Flame. trail. about 125 miles of good riding, for everthing. Also close is the Big Aspen trail, really nice riding. that should do it for now! enjoy your riding.
Posted by: raptormattman
Bartlett; I didn't know you had a roll-design stem and a IMS tank on your raptor. lol . I thought i was the only one. How did you get the tank to fit?img src="i/expressions/face-icon-small-wink.gif" border="0">
Posted by: SukiZ400rdr
Wow, sounds like a big group.
Would like to join you guys since I wouldn't hafta drive very far, but I dont know
if I could get outa work or not. I am actually not that familiar with the ATV trails
around Danbury, since I just started really riding last fall. Went with a group on
the Soo Line from Wahkon to Moose Lake in like October if I remember right.
Rained all the way back to the hotel!!! We were all soaked to the bone, but
it was fun.
I am gonna keep an eye on this thread to see when the actual date is, maybe
by then I will know if I can get outta work or not. Sounds like it would be a lot
of fun.
Posted by: SukiZ400rdr
I wouldnt feel so bad about not knowing the trails in Danbury if I didnt live so
close to them!!! LOL! I have been wanting to ride up there, but couldnt find
anybody to go with! I hate riding alone!
I am currently in the process of joining a local ATV club. Then I will get more
involved.
But anyways, this ride sounds like fun, and I look forward to it.
Posted by: SukiZ400rdr
Man, I am just gonna hafta find a way to get out of work!
This is gonna be way too much fun to miss!!!
Dean Z, ( I think I speak for everyone here) I cannot
begin to say how much I appreciate what you are
doing over there. Look fwd to meeting you hopefully!
Anyways, gonna keep an eye on this thread as well.

My best friend lives in Danbury, i have ridden the trails on a snowmobile with him but never on a quad. They are pretty good trails, if you go in Danbury my friend would go for sure since he lives there. I would probably go too depending on my plans. With any questions about the Danbury trail area, call my friend Dylan at 1715-656-3121. He'd be happy to tell ya all about them.
Posted by: rldbobcat
Let me know when and where and I'll try and make it. Might be able to get some friends talked into it also.
Posted by: rldbobcat
What is the terrain like at Danbury?? Pretty flat trails, big steep hill climbs, riverbeds??? That will depend on if i make the trip, also when......i just broke a rib last sat so it will be at least march before Im ready to ride agian, and not sure if I'll be able to ride hard then or just be able to ride.

Dont see what the prob with girls would be. I dont think everyone is going to be going flats out balls to the walls the whole time. Also just saying bikini season there is a lot more eye candy for the guys.
Posted by: rldbobcat
So are you guys talking about a one day or 2 day ride? I dont know anything about that area. I'll try and make it but im very busy at work in the spring so not sure yet. Might get a few friends to go also.
Posted by: hondabuster
Im interested.
Ive been to alot of the trails, in mn, either on bikes or quads, and i think nemadji is a good pick, and the gilbert pit is one of my favorite places. Black river falls, in wisc would be another good pick. I ride a utility.
Posted by: hondabuster
Does anyone know if theres a map, of the danbury trail, online? If not, is there a place i can call, and have one sent by mail?
Posted by: hondabuster
Anyone seen this thread?
out of state rider fee
I tried looking in the wdnr, website and they have no information on this.
Anyone know anything about this?
Am I the only utility rider in the group? How are you guys gonna keep up?
Posted by: hondabuster
Heres a map,, of where the casino is, in Danbury Wi. I believe the campgrounds are to the east, behind the casino.
danbury wi
Posted by: hondabuster
We should give the campgrounds a heads up,to expect some people that morning. Is there enough room there, for truck, trailers and tents, for a few dozen riders?
Posted by: hondabuster
Ya i saw that show... it was on minnesota bound, and atv tv. Looked like a fun thing to do in the winter.
I started a poll, to see how many are thinking of coming.Heres the link
poll
Maybe we can do one, on types of quads, or sizes, or brands, or ages. Any interest?
Posted by: hondabuster
Looks like there are 13 responses to the poll, for a total of 32 people, as of now.
I started another,.... on age. If you have more than yourself going, put their ages in too.(just revote as often as needed).
age poll
Posted by: hondabuster
I'm working on figureing out how to let a a person vote more than once, it might just be a cookie, that can be deleted in your cookie folder.
Anyway, I started another poll, on what ride you're bringing.
I don't think i want to get into brands, ....we seem to get along, and I'd like to keep it that way. (Some of the other threads get pretty heated). I'd like to think we're mature enough to keep it friendly and good natured when it comes to brand loyalty.
what ya ridin' poll
Posted by: atvrulzz
Hey,
I watched you guys race at the 12 hours of america race in iowa. That looked like a good time. Was there anything left of your quad after racing that hard, for that long?
Posted by: atvrulzz
yeah, that looked like a good time. For the utility class are you talking about the bob lind, kevin white, nate quad. Those guys were leading for a long time and then i did not see them in the lead anymore.
Where do you guys usually ride at? I am having trouble finding a place to go to riding during the week (evenings). On the weekends i am up at willow river. But during the summer, i would just go to this place off of hwy 65, up near ham lake. cool area to ride, but for how long, until it is closed off.
Posted by: atvrulzz
Cool, Sounds good. I will see you and everyone on saturday May 15 at 8 a.m. in the danbury casino parking lot.
Posted by: atvrulzz
I bought my cannondale moto, new, about a year ago at floodwood motorsports in floodwood minnesota, which is near duluth. They were going out of business and at the same time, cannondale was going out of business, so i got a good deal. Cannondales though, are making a comeback with ATK and Dinli.
Saturday May 15, 8 a.m. in the parking lot of the Danbury Wisconsin casino, is when i this big shind ding is going to take place. From previous posts, this sounds like a cool place to go trail riding.
Posted by: atvrulzz
Hey mxquadracer,
Does your neighbor let anyone ride on his track. I have problems finding places to ride during the week, lately i have been going to this place in ham lake (right near hwy 65), but i dont know how long that will last, because the area is getting built up fast. If your neighbor says no, ( i will sign a waiver for him if he likes) are there places to ride up by elk river? I live in coon rapids, and only about 20 minutes away from elk river.
Posted by: 2Fast4U400ex
I've been to Danbury, AWESOME place to ride. But me and my buddy's are making a trip up to the Iron Range sometime during Mid Summer. Should be a good time. I'll let you guys know when we're going up there.
Posted by: 2Fast4U400ex
I say September. A group in Danbury very clever idea. It wont be too hot where a guy will be sweating to death but yet perfect temp to wear riding gear. Hopefully a little muddy too Cant go wrong with mud. Click on my camera there's a couple pics that shows whether i like mud or not. Picture # 10
Posted by: Xscream
I'd be up for a ride. Dosen't really matter where as long as it isn't a mudd bath. I would be bringing a couple buddies along too. 15 people won't take long to assemble as long as its planed far enough in advance.
Posted by: deanz400
say guys i know i'm coming into this late ,but i'm stuck here in iraq , i should be home by end of april so i'd like to join in , i'll bring the wife too . i've got a cabin just south of danbury by grantsburg wi .so the ride would be cool . can all you hard core riders imagine not being able to ride for a whole year it bits !!img src="i/expressions/face-icon-small-wink.gif" border="0">hen i was home in november i bought myself a Z so i'm ready hope to see all of you in may

Me and my dad will most likly be there, maybe along with a few others. Finally we can take out the wheelers! Tired of this snow/mud stuff. Well I have a 416ex, best way you can notice it is its just... um everything I guess, red maier race front plastic with stock 04' graphics, red stocker rear fenders, red frame and a few candy apple blue stuff. My dad has a 02 black Limited edition raptor, has a few blue add ons and soon to have a blue HMF. If you want any pics if you wanna point us out in the crowd, just email me- daredevil416ex@yahoo.com thanks very much for getting this ride goin!-darren
