i'll probley ride with you guys next week...if im not working hehhe

Bear is going to wimp out next week but I have high hopes that Chuck and I at least will be going. Let us know what your work schedule is as we are somewhat flexible on our days to ride. Comes from being RETIRED.

Well, let me tell you something about blazing speed! Bout scared me silly. Long straight away, seemed pretty level so should have been a fair test. Chasing Bear and Chuck. Pinned the mighty 360 and the surge of power was something to behold. Wind blowing, rocks flying, deer and bear standing with mouths agap. Gps reading got to 39.8 MPH before I shut her down. Now, just try to keep up with that kind of speed.

i reserve the right to change my mind......

I got a 400ex. I've had it for about a year and i'm not bored with it. If you plan on dune riding i would recommend something faster but for trails it's perfect. Although i would rather have a 450r because of the suspension. He can buy mine when (if) my wife lets me get a renegade

I am not bored with my 400ex. the z400 is just a cooler quad. the z400 is not in my pics because i have been banned from ridding it. the last time i rode it i bent an a-arm and put a flat spot in the frame.she says i have my own quads for that.

LMAO that's some funny chit there Andy img src="i/expressions/face-icon-small-smile.gif" border="0"> WE girls aren't stupid img src="i/expressions/face-icon-small-happy.gif" border="0">img src="i/expressions/face-icon-small-tongue.gif" border="0">BR>
AS for a 400ex thats what my hubby got when we all got quads 6 yrs ago, he lOVES his 400, never had any issues w/ it theya re bullet proof!! WE only put a 426 piston in it last year, that is pretty good for the riding it had on it, you can always give them more CC's we got him a 450R this past summer & to be honest he likes the 426 better!!! Too bad for him though cuz it's MINE now!!!!!!!!!!!!!
I've rode the 450 & don't like it either, but I LOVE the Yammi 450 she's got LOTS more grunt you can find 400ex's for good prices now, around $2500-$3500 for a good one w/ lots of extras!!
Good luck w/ your search And don't forget about the 300 I have for YOU!! most forgiving quad you'll ever ride!!

Is the 300 back together or does it come in a box still? j/k.

Hey, Hey, HEY! You didn't gripe about riding MY 450. In fact, I seem to remember you having a chit eating grin on your face, thank you. Now if you are talking about the Honda 450, I will take it back because I don't like them as much as my Zuki 450 either. Elenore is cool too, but still like mine bestest.

tne, go with the Z400 if you are going to get a sport quad. It's a great all around machine, trails and dunes. Reverse is nice to have when you need it. Still love to abuse the crap outta mine even though I also have a new r450. I have put some time and money on mods into it in the last year, but it was a great quad even before I did everything to it. And the mods were(MUCH) cheaper than the new quad when I got the itch for more power. Lots of possibility to build it out if he/you do get bored and want more power. JMHO.

The Z is a nice, stable bike that is easy to ride. It is a very good beginner's quad. You would enjoy riding it as well.

OH, my mistake! thought you were gone next week as well. We may as well start the planning process as it appears Wed, Thur and Friday are all good for me. Let me know what works for you and Chuck. And, by the way, you will not have a chance to blast Bambi. I got him years ago and even have the "I KILLED BAMBI" tee shirt. My wife refused to be seen with me when I wore it. One of my best friends had a shirt the claimed the same about Thumper.

Wednesday is best for me, but I can live with Thursday. Friday is a no-go as will be gettin' ready to roll early Saturday morning.

Punut butter and cheese on a spring trap with savvy placement on the path of the mouse always works.

Posted by: tnemaloney

well there is somethin bout emptying that spring trap that really grosses me out lol but i might have to resort to that...

Posted by: OneFlyCowboy

Then take your live mouse to a local barn with kittnes and let the mouse and kittens go in a big box and whatever kitten kills the mouse take home

Posted by: tnemaloney

lol i have a cat he is lazy my chow used to catch mice but she is old shes going blind and deaf

Posted by: OneFlyCowboy

Hard to beat the effectivness of a quality mouser although the best mousers leave their catch on your doorstep for you to see.

OK, I'll install your cabinets for your Raptor!
That would have to include closing off the window, putting new window above sink and installing that 11' slider to the patio hr>
OK!
You supply, I install!
Let me right my wrong, you supply window, slider and install, I'll help. Remember this is a Raptor, not some 450R J/K HeHeHeHe

You supplly and I install and if you help, I would require BOTH your Raptors!

So does patience, a pistol and shot shells. You would not believe the reaction of SWMBO to this method at 3:00 AM

We are getting a small quad, probably a Suzuki, for our grandson for Christmas. Wanted a remote kill switch for it and the dealer did not have anything. Stopped at a stereo and alarm place for cars and they will install one total cost $100.00. I thought this sounded like a real deal. They are checking on the range but think it will be about 300 feet.

Anyone have any thoughts on brand of the little quads? I don't think I want to trust one of the ones out of China, seems there are too many problems with them. Comments? Advice? Suggestions?

Mike this is the route we went with Jakie, When he was 3, I picked up a used 1984 suzuki lt50 for $300. He rode it in the back yard and an empty field for almost six months. Then he was ready for bigger and SAFER (our little 50 would have the throttle stick on it, and Jake would just still be going round and round until I pulled him off or grabbed the kill cord, also was pretty tippy in stock form).Ended up working out a deal with a great guy and tradded the 50 for some needed parts, both party's happy. Jakie was able to pick up the basics with it and unloaded it easily, but it was short time period we had it.
I have a really good Dealer/Salesman I work with in Kent who sells Kawasaki's and Kymco's, I had never heard of Kymco so did some research and found out Kymco started in 1963 with Honda and correct me if I'm wrong guys but they made the 70 motor for Honda. They are the biggest scooter seller in Asia and Europe and well known everywhere but here, just started importing 3 yrs ago.
Jakie's is a Mongoose 50 2-stroke, is nice and wide, weighs less than most except the lt50, has a kill cord on the handlebar(racer style) so if he falls off it kills the bike. Oh and it is a torque monster, it will pull a decent size adult up most hard packed hills. In the almost 2 yrs we have had ours, No Complaints At All. We paid $1300 out the door, but I don't think they still make the 2-stroke, but still might find one at the dealer, Kent or Lacey.
We had considered the Predetor 50 and have heard good things about it, was more $$$ and it seems a little smaller, which could be good for the kid and does come with additional height floorboards.
Also looked at Eton's they have both a 50 and a 70. We really looked close at the 70 but Jake wouldn't have been able to race in the same class with it. Eton's do come with Remote's for stopping and they are decent priced.
Didn't even consider another New lt50 after the first one though, all the reading I did was how underpowered that little 50 was and not worth the money

Now this is just my opinion and the route we went, I'm no expert but I do know that so far both Jake and I are really happy with our route.

Our grandson is on the farm on the East side of the state. Thanks for the info and offer. I'm gonna think about it but sounds like you have had a good experience with the Kymco. Since Nick will not be racing the Eaton 70 may be something for us to look at. He's kind of a long, rangy kid and I am a little concerned the 50 size might be a little small for him. I'll look into those, thanks for the info and I'll no doubt be getting back to you on this.

Evening PSAR BR>
TC, we also have had a couple mini's around our place, we have been the happiest w/ our Kasea 50, it is the same size as a Kasea 90 body wise ect. It is a 2 stroke oil injected motor(ours is not anymore), & fully automatic tranny. The 50 comes w/ 7" wheels & the 90 8" It comes w/ 2 kill switch/cords from the factory, one on the handle bar & one on the rear of the quad under the seat that you can just pull when they get crazy or something!! Of course we've taken both of those off of Trevor's too haha we went w/ an aftermarket one for racing. Trevor LOVES his little quad & it'll go thru anything he's put it too so far. WE've had it about 2yrs. now w/ no problems!! They come w/ a 1 yr warranty which is good for a mini, we had ours shipped in a crate to us so we voided the warranty since we assembled it but that was no biggy for us!! WE paid $1600 for ours from Roseburg Cycle in Oregon!!
Anyway just another brand to throw your way I'm hearing decent things about the Kymco's plus they have a cool name hahaha (that's how I spell my name KYM) MB had a little Eton 50 it was VERY small & skinny, minimadman raced it like he stole it though I knew there was a remote kill one out there, I would do some more looking before you buy!

Thanks for the input DM. Thats the kind of stuff I need. The experience and stories of folks on this site have helped me several times.

I'm definitely going to keep looking around. Going to run out to Ke*t tomorrow and follow up a lead offered earlier. No names, don't want another MB incident. Shame on me. Not!

Mike I know there is a kymco dealer in kent on central and a eton dealer in auburn between hi-way 167 and hi-way 18.

I have no employement monies or rewards from either of these places so, I don't feel sending U to the right LOCAL dealers presents any problems.

Mike, I purchased my R450 at Cyclebarnyou should go to Cyclebarn and see if they are going to have another inventory sale. Or, since you are so far south, you should maybe call Cyclebarn
I purchased my Z400 at Everett Power Sports and they were great as well. I am not sure if they carry mini's-I think they do, but I KNOW Cyclebarn does. Good luck.

I can tell U about the Eton/Honda dealership in Auburn, but Dirtmomma can't cause she has a nephew who works there! In fact he sold Jakie his Fulmer Rockstar helmet last weekend.

I hate that my little faces never pop up here at work, oh well a tongue was sticking out somewhere in there

Happa can't make it and my buddy riding with me doesn't have that much trail experience so I thought I'd keep it easier for him. That and I don't have to drive 2 hours to get to Darrington.

Orange gear wouldn't make a difference. I don't think any hunter would mistake me on my quad for a deer. If I get shot, it'll be intentional, scaring away the deer.

Gotta love it when the builder schedules other subs on both houses I'm working on so I can't work on either one today and I don't find out until I drive to the job site

I'm self employed, so I lose a days work on my schedule.

Morning PSAR

Lots of places to look for a little quad. Guess that means the girls will have to go shopping on their own today. Makes me feel really bad I have to look at quads rather than dresses, shoes and such. Yeah, right.

TNE, neat witch! Wall to wall kids eh? You know I kind of miss all that in a weird sort of way. Herding kids around is a lot of fun.

I hear the coffee counter calling, have a great day everyone.

Posted by: tnemaloney

that really is a bummer.........i hate it when the hubbie has an unplanned day off he tends to sit around all day and asks what should we do?and we end up doing nuttin

And how hardnosed a negotiator you are. If you are willing to walk away and give the sale to a shop that will give you a little better service, then sometimes they will give you extras to retain your business. Sometimes they don't. Depends on the dealership, salesperson, etc. It's always good to have feedback on other's experience at a particular place if you can get it, rather than walk in cold. Sometimes you get lucky, sometimes you don't.

Good Morning Hap. Not ignoring you earlier, just got on to see what the news was and then out the door. Just got back. Mr Dog was in a visiting mood this morning I think as we seemed to spend quite a bit of time with each of his friends. Always fun.

Mike, Last year Arctic Cat stopped making their own 250 and started using the Kymco as their 250, both a sportie and a ute version. Haven't heard any complaints except that the new bike isn't near the ute the old one was (a full independent suspension 2X4 or 4X4 on the older models to a solid rear axle with drive shaft on the new ute). Well, you saw what that 250 of mine will do.

Now that's interesting isn't it. Maybe the Chinese equipment has something going for it after all. Since the general conversation seems to agree on the usefulness of these rides I'm going to have to do some serious looking.

Didn't make it to the dealerships, quad type, today. Got sidetracked looking at a truck and spent too much time there. By the time I got done haggling with the guy Mr Corgi was ready to be picked up at the groomers. Maybe Thursday I will look at quads.

Who all is going riding tomorrow, you know, one of those MID-WEEK rides. (stir, stir) We are meeting at the "Farm Boy" restaurant, just West of Exit 95 on I-5, at 10:00 AM and riding out of Middle Waddell. Chuck is going to do double cartwheels down a heretofore untried, for the Sick, Lame, Lazy and Crazy crew at least, trail. Or he may just cruise down it and yell "chickens" back at us.

You got a point there hr>

You had your chance to redem yourself Wild and I tried to get all of you to go back but everybody was too tired

What that means is google is building an index of all the words and their locations on this website. so when people search for Honda 450r Pirate Bike. it will bring them to PSAR. or if the searched puget sound area ATV it would pop up the PSAR thread in the list of results. if you search OneFlyCowboy. a bunch of forum threads show up. or you search BigDaddy660r it will show up.. whatever.

Geez, I knew if I left work early it would all go to heyall in a handbasket. I didn't get a ticket on it, so it must have been a Qwest problem Besides, that's why it's better to have redundancy. Everything works 'till it breaks.

Sad day - my grandma passed away. Although it was a blessing to go peacefully and end her pain, I am still feeling melancholy. I was the first grandbaby on that side and spent a LOT of time with the grands.

So, for the second time in 4 weeks, I'll be heading down to Reedsport on sad business. The weather is supposed to be nice again, but no quads - just a good old fashioned Irish wake with a TON of family.

We'll probably go riding the 21st/22nd if anyone is interested.
