Ultrasounds on kidneys show them to be of normal size and shape.. so whatever caused them to stop working right was a sudden onset. such as poisoning, bacteria like lepto or toxic algae or something. he does produce urine so that means his kidneys having completely quit right?

is he your only dog? or do you have others?
Posted by: warriorqueen
Exactly! I'm sure we all think we should be making more. But i think i would be coming out the same if i took this other job. It's in Snohomish so it would only take me 15-20 mins to get to work instead of an hour. So from all of the gas i use to go to Bellevue, it might help. I don't know though, my mind is going crazy right now. Reviews coming on Monday. Do i tell her to save her breath and put my two weeks in or do i stay here and find a better paying job where i will be coming out ahead with better pay, but closer to home. What to do, what to do!!

We have had Hospice experience two times when family members had terminal cancer. The process is overseen by a Doctor and usually supervised by an RN. If the family wants it there are support groups and an educational program which we found very helpful. I know this process is painful for you and your family and we wish you strength and peace during this time. Be assured that the Hospice program is set up to prevent a person from being in pain and to make what time they have left of the highest quality possible. I was amazed at what they were able to do for our family.

Woke up this morning with a bit of a back problem. Helped a neighbor move some stuff around last night and am paying the price. Met up with Bear and Chuck at "The Place" restaurant on Mud Bay Road for breakfast and just came on home. Last I saw of the "Ancient Riders" (I think I like that) they were on the the road to Rock Candy.

Hope your feeling better TC hr>
I'm fine, thanks for the concern. Mine is a recurring problem from when I ruptured some disks and split some verts. Left leg goes to sleep, comes and goes. Been living with it for a long time and know the limits so no big deal.
Sounds like you may have a tension plus physical thing going. Maybe you should see the vet and get a muscle relaxer. I was fortunate to find a really good vet when my back was messed up and he told me it was vital to stay hydrated. Lots of water and juices, avoid coffee (yeh, right) and alcohol. He also said to avoid stress and learn how to not worry about the little sh*t. Don't let that tension stay with you and maybe see if you can get a headset that won't tend to pull your head to one side. Take care of yourself, pain sucks.

No I do believe these are for friends Plus i think the only 2 stroke he would have would be his blaster & I"m sure he wants to keep it that way img src="i/expressions/face-icon-small-happy.gif" border="0">
Well, OK then But even at that I'm surprised that once he has them he isn't gonna keep them. Quads seem to be like chocolate chip cookies. Ain't no such thing as too many.
They belong to a couple of friends. The only quads I have gotten rid of are still in my garage! To my son and future Daughter-in-law!
Storing stuff for the kids. Boy does that sound familiar. Sometimes think I should open a rental unit. My little shop at the farm is going to get a major "Take your stuff home!" cleaning out one of these days. Getting so I gotta move their stuff to get to my stuff.

Wow, all that work and $$$ into it and it won't run?
That's kind of what I'm thinking... It's probably ignorance on my part too. My CR500 was a real trick to start after I had it built by pro-circuit... it was almost a ritual. Tip it to where gas was leaking out the carb, pump the kick starter three times, then hop down real hard and it fired right up. If you did anything different, it wouldn't start. I had to start it for the guy I sold it to when we went to ride the desert 100...
The puzzling part is it was running until I changed the oil. It may have had some condensation in the tank and got a slug of water in the fuel line... I'm draining the tank this morning and starting again.

We did Rock Candy East to North Rim #1 to Middle Waddell Loop to Waddell Campground. Then Molly Porter #40 to Molly Porter #3 to Mount Molly Porter trail to Rock Candy West back to the parking lot. The trails were damp enough that the only dust was in the clear cuts and there were even a few minor mud puddles. Ran into a half a dozen different or so riders near the start but only 3 dirt bikers on the the way back. It was a perfect day, weather wise for riding. To bad noboy else opted in.

I knew it was going to be a good ride and really wish I could have gone. The day before there was no dust and like you say the weather was great. About next week, looks like Wednesday would be good and Chuck was saying it was the best day for him. How does that work for you. Anyone else interested in a mid week ride?

Might be interested Rod, is the rifle original or has it been modified and how many groves in the bbl?
Posted by: tencubed
I was going to mention this earlier and it slipped my mind, doing that a lot anymore.
At RMC yesterday I looked at a new Griz. 800 cc EFI with POWER STEERING! I suppose that next will come AC and a heater. That quad is nearly as big as a small Jeep. I sat on the thing and tried to picture horsing it around in a tight area. Not my cup of tea but there were a number of people looking at it with the WOW look on their faces.

A funny joke a friend sent........
The Smiths and the Baby Photographer
The Smiths were unable to conceive children and decided to use a surrogate
father to start their family. On the day the proxy father was to arrive,
Mr. Smith kissed his wife goodbye and said, "Well, I'm off now. The man
should be here soon."
Half an hour later, just by chance, a door-to-door baby photographer
happened to ring the doorbell, hoping to make a sale.
"Good mo rning, Ma'am", he said, "I've come to...' "Oh, no need to
explain," Mrs. Smith cut in, embarrassed, "I've been expecting you."
"Have you really?" said the photographer. "Well, that's good. Did you know
babies are my specialty?"
"Well that's what my husband and I had hoped. Please come in and have a
seat"
After a moment she asked, blushing, "Well, where do we start?"
"Leave everything to me. I usually try two in the bathtub, one on the
couch, and perhaps a couple on the bed. And sometimes the living room floor
is fun. You can really spread out there."
"Bathtub, living room floor? No wonder it didn't work out for Harry and
me!"
"Well, Ma'am, none of us can guarantee a good one every time. But if we try
several different positions and I shoot from six or seven angles, I'm sure
y ou'll be pleased with the results."
"My, that's a lot!" gasped Mrs. Smith.
"Ma'am, in my line of work a man has to take his time. I'd love to be in
and out in five minutes, but I'm sure you'd be disappointed with that."
"Don't I know it," said Mrs. Smith quietly.
The photographer opened his briefcase and pulled out a portfolio of his baby
pictures. "This was done on the top of a bus," he said.
"Oh my God!" Mrs. Smith exclaimed, grasping at her throat.
"And these twins turned out exceptionally well - when you consider their
mother was so difficult to work with."
"She was difficult?" asked Mrs. Smith.
"Yes, I'm afraid so. I finally had to take her to the park to get the job
done right. People were crowding around four and five deep to get a good
look."
"Four and five deep?" said Mrs. Smith, her eyes wide with amazement.
"Yes", the photographer replied. "And for more than three hours too. The
mother was constantly squealing and yelling - I could hardly concentrate,
and when darkness approached I had to rush my shots. Finally, when the
squirrels began nibbling on my equipment, I just had to pack it all in."
Mrs. Smith leaned forward. "Do you mean they actually chewed on your,
um,..equipment?"
"It's true, Ma'am, yes. Well, if you're ready, I'll set-up my tripod and we
can get to work right away."
"Tripod?"
"Oh yes, Ma'am. I need to use a tripod to rest my Canon on. It's much too
big to be held in the hand very long."
Mrs. Smith fainted

Rod,
He got back and I left on vacation so we missed each other. I got a guess from a guy I know at the gun show today and he thinks in the $350 range (he didn't see the pictures though). I get an additional info this week.

Well I think I am healing( my neck) hahaha, was ont he way to the Doc. yesterday but then changed my mind, so went shopping instead HA went & got some of the Therma CAre heat wraps man them things are sweet slapped on back there & was on my way!!
WE went to look @ pellet storage sheds man decisions decisions, was going to get a metal one but decided against it & got a nice Rubbermaid one, Ron will put it together today, this one just snaps together unlike the metal ones you screw & this one also come w/ a floor the metal ones don't!! So by the time I get home from work it should be complete!! Was a PIA to get it, Mrsvl Home Depot didn't have one so drove to Everett, waited 30 min just for them to FIND a forklift to get it off the shelf, then after paying they had to get a DIFFERENT fork lift(cuz the 1st one coudn't go on concrete) so we waited & waited finally we said heck w/ it, cut the bands holding the HUGE boxes together & proceeded to laod it ourselves!!! As another couple were walking up[ the guy offered to help but the lady says "Is that going to fit in your truck" damn I thought my MOm was there LOL, I wanted to say lady shut up(it was the way she said it) but we got it in & NEVER did see the damn other forklift!!!!!!!!!
Then we went out to eat, after all that work we were starving LOL
Oh yeah got the new alternator on the truck too, so our tow rig is back up & going YIPPEEEE img src="i/expressions/face-icon-small-happy.gif" border="0">BR>

Always a good read. Mr Ackley was a real gentleman. I keep a set of the soft covers Vol 1 and 2 here in Seattle. I have a set of hard covered with the soft cover pocket book addendum that he gave me years ago at the farm. All autographed and the whole bit. Valued possessions.
Is Chuck going to be able to make the ride? What kind of trouble is he having with the shifter? And as far as the "suffering through" goes, lots of sympathy is still available and you know where to look for it.

The bobcats were cool, no one else in the group could stay with us and didn't get to see them. I hadn't seen any cats for several years at that point. The snow was fun riding in too.

I've seen both lynx and bobcats in Western Washington. Primarily west of here in the Wynoochee River valley.

Had a great time at Oakwood, Jakie's first race and he got a 3rd (out of three) but he told me "Daddy that is FUN!). Really big turnout especially for the 90 class, man some of those quads could give Bomber a run for the amount of $$$ into them.
Hooked up with Shawn, its a trip I went to school with Ur wife. And big thanxs to Shawn and his wife for all the encouragement and atta boys towards Jake. Shawns daughter Ashely is really starting to work her shifter, it was fun watching her in her class because they were so evenly matched that the winner was determined by who didn't mishift.
Now gotta decide if we are gonna make it next Sunday, and just how commited we will be to making the series, just as long as it is "Daddy that was FUN!"

Thats GREAT img src="i/expressions/face-icon-small-happy.gif" border="0"> tell him GOOD JOB from the SAndvig's, Oakwood is a GREAT program & Carol runs it well, it's for the kids!! Took it back to the shop Saturday afternoon. Think the flywheel key got sheared. It acts like it's out of time. Fires out the tailpipe and carb, just not in the cylinder. They're going to pull the side-case off and look. I took it back, since they did the install the last time... They said they'd get to it early this week.

that's what happened to my Bomb after we put it back together. Down at Florence the key sheared and it was doing just as you say yours is doing, it even blew the carb loose (That rubber piece). Josh rebuilt the keyway and made it work

Sounds like they'll solve the issue... wonder what would cause it to shear if that's the issue. It has only idled a few minutes since the fly-wheel was installed.

If that is a taper shaft with keyway setup on that flywheel you might try a trick a chainsaw mechanic taught me. First the shaft and flywheel must be clean and dry. No oil at all. Use a new key and put the flywheel in place and torque it down. Now put a socket large enough to go over the shaft and nut/washer and rest on the flywheel against the flywheel and strike it quite sharply with a hammer. Retorque the nut. Usually it will tighten another eighth of a turn or so. Works on most any taper shaft that wants to shear keys.

The trouble with hitting flywheels with magnets in them is you can screw up the magnets (either weaken or totally destroy their magnetic properties or if they are the glued in type of magnets you can knock them loose. Hitting the end of the crank to knock a flywheel loose is totally different than hitting the flywheel inself. In almost all cases, if the key is sheared, the nut was not torqued correctly.

I am back in town now. LONG drive. Wish I woulda taken my quad. The pony farm I got to visit this weekend is on the edge of National forest access into the mountains around Lake Walowa(I think) outside Joseph, OR. What a georgeous area! I would LOVE to have a piece of property/farm like that in such a phenomenal area. They told me I should bring it next time so I think I will have to figure out how. BR>

Morning PSAR!!
I received a email about dogs being allergic to grapes and raisins. This is exactly why i don't feed my dog any human food. He gets dog treats and his original dog food.
WARNING Dog Owners
This week I had the first case in history of raisin toxicity ever seen at MedVet. My patient was a 56 pound, 5 yr old male neutered lab mix who ate half a canister of raisins ometime between 7:30 AM and 4:30 PM on Tuesday. He started with vomiting, diarrhea and shaking about 1 AM on Wednesday but the owner didn't call my emergency service until 7 AM.
I had heard somewhere about raisins AND grapes causing acute renal failure but hadn't seen any formal paper on the subject. We had her bring the dog in immediately. In the meantime, I called the ER service at MedVet, and the doctor there was like me?had heard something about it, but.... Anyway, we contacted the ASPCA National Animal Poison Control Center and they said to give I V fluids at 1 1/2 times maintenance and watch the kidney values for the next 48-72 hours.
The dog's BUN (blood urea nitrogen level) was already at 32 (normal less than 27) and creatinine over 5 (1.9 is the high end of normal). Both are monitors of kidney function in the bloodstream. We placed an I V catheter and started the fluids. Rechecked the renal values at 5 PM and the BUN was over 40 and creatinine over 7 with no urine production after a liter of fluids.
At the point I felt the dog was in acute renal failure and sent him on to MedVet for a urinary catheter to monitor urine output overnight as well as overnight care. He started vomiting again overnight at MedVet and his renal values have continued to increase daily. He produced urine when given lasix as a diuretic. He was on 3 different anti-vomiting medications and they still couldn't control his vomiting.
Today his urine output decreased again, his BUN was over 120, his creatinine was at 10, his phosphorus was very elevated and his blood pressure, which had been staying around 150, skyrocketed to 220. He continued to vomit and the owners elected to euthanize.
This is a very sad case?great dog, great owners who had no idea raisins could be a toxin. Please alert everyone you know who has a dog of this very serious risk. Poison control said as few as 7 raisins or grapes could be toxic. Many people I know give their dogs grapes or raisins as treats. Any exposure should give rise to immediate concern. Feel free to contact me if you have any questions.

Those number you talkin WQ.. Moose was Higher than 136 on the BUN as thats as high as they can test, His CREATININE was higher than 132 as thats as high as they can test and his PHOS was higher than 16.4 as thats as high as they could test. His BUN is now 124 and his CREAT is still 132+ and his PHOS has dropped to 12.6.. There is no knowing how high they was.. He has lost close to 40 lbs thru this deal.. He did eat a biscut outta my pocket this mornin when i went to see him and he is drinking water. Hopefully the big guy will start eating and drinking.

the bomb was torqued to spec and locktighted and it came loose after about one hour.....the key shered and the remaining peice widened the key way by a quarter inch ...I welded it up and got the dremel out and recut it then I set the key with JB and put the fly wheel on and went about 30lbs over torque....so far so good has probably 20 hrs on it.....

I might be game for a fast ride.... it would have to be three weeks so I got no kids....and I got to put new brakes and skids on the 450....
the last trail ride at capital kept my swingarm skid....hit a rock pile about 4th gear pinned...I bounced over but it ripped my factory skid off

Neighbor over by Goldendale said the permit process over there has slowed way down. Took him 3 days and fifty bucks to get a permit to build a shop/storage building. Used to be a walk in, fifteen bucks, walk out deal. Progress

Was riding around off the trails in the bushes in the cow field lookin for a place to pioneer a new hillclimb or two that are more technical that just steep cat trails. well heading down into this ravine near where Bing got stuck I seen a bunch of bones and was thinkin one of the cows had died or sompin last winter. so i stopped and walked over to inspect and tripped over a Nice 3x4 Elk rack on the skull that as a nice find the entire skeleton was there including the Hooves. Dunno if it died from fighting or was wounded by a hunter and made its way into the pasture before it bedded down one last time.

Unusual for all the parts to be in place. Scavengers usually have stuff scattered around. Now you have a set of horns to hang on the new barn.

The key is for aligning the flywheel on the crank (timing). The taper on the crank and flywheel when torqued are what hold the flywheel in place. Oh yeah, make sure there are no burrs on the crank and flywheel tapers before torquing.

The key to all of this is having some experience to draw from...
Since I don't know a thing about the inside of that motor and don't have the appropriate tools, I'm hesitant to open it up. However, you don't learn if you don't try. Sounds like I'm going to have to get over that rather quickly. Just hate to screw something up due to my ignorance.
We'll get over this little bump in the road and start putting the smack-down soon...
Since the bike didn't test and tune last weekend, Albany is off this weekend. Hate to pay the race fees if I don't know how it's going to run. I'll plan for a trip to Beverly this weekend... go un challenged and take that "King of the Chit-Hole" title from BigD

Haven't you heard? The new Super Blasto Extra Long Sky Raker shotguns and related ammo allow the Blue Sky Shadow Shooters to take out even high flyers and armored feathered foul.
Least that is what it seems like when I see some of the hunters on our place blasting away at geese that would be out of range for light Anti-Aircraft cannons.

Anyone else?
I would love too, but that is opening day if you see me in those parts I will be packing my rifle hr>
What will you be hunting? The reason i ask is because our hunting (eastern washington with rifle) doesn't open until October 28.
Deer Seasons opens up in Eastern and Western on the 14th img src="i/expressions/face-icon-small-happy.gif" border="0"> I am not sure what GMU the Naches is in though.

Oh. Yea elk opens October 28 in eastern WA. Well in that case, since deer season opens next weekend, maybe I will drive over to Kettle to pick up my meat cutting equipment and possibly get a deer at my uncle's property! BR>

The 14th is the deer season opener (thru the 31st) for Modern Firearms, the bow weinies have been at it for a while now. The 4 day Late Buck is the weekend (Nov. 16-19) before western elk opens next month.
