Thanks for your understanding. Normally this isn't an issue for me because I make the plans for the projects and have back-up coverage for my absense. This time it's dealing with the fall-out of other's neglegent project management.
What would happen if you got sick?
That would be a different story in this case... not career limiting.
How is it career limiting if you can't be there to fix other peoples f up? It can't wait a few days? Bogus man, just bogus!
I agree, this is focking bogus. But this is temporary... part of the job in this case. Once the projects are managed properly, this will stop. Hence why I was asked to take the job. Once this is cleaned up, I'll move on to another f'd up job and sort it out...
The rest of the story...
I had to ask other people to do the same thing to support the project, it was a hard decision, but I had to make it. I wouldn't ask someone else to do the same thing if I wasn't there too. I don't see any credibility in a leader if the he goes on vacation while he asks others to come in. True, airplanes will be built if I'm there or not. It's unfortunate that this happend, and I'm more pissed than anyone out there, mainly because this was preventable. My priorities are Family and friends first, then all others. I honor my obligations and commitments to the best of my ability. The part that kills me is the level of effort my wife went through to make this happen and not going to Coos to be with my friends. It's a big let-down to my family and also to me because I said I would be there, but I had to make a decision and go with it. Especially when my leadership is counting on me to make things happen.
I did have a choice, I could have given them the finger and let certain people twist in the wind trying to make things come together. But I couldn't do that, it's not the way I operate. It may be a pain at the time, but it doesn't go un-rewarded in the long-run either. Also, this doesn't happen that frequently.
This last year has been busy with school and work and I was really looking forward to just campin' and ridin'. Especially since it's hard to get everyone going to the same place at the same time. I'll be planning another trip soon. It will all work out...
In the mean time, I'll drink beer and be pissed as hell.

Thanks for asking! I'm doing better, just getting bored sitting on the recliner when i'm at home. I want to do something. Started working full days at work yesterday. It's slowly getting better day by day. I just have to remember not to use that arm when opening cabinets, lifting stuff.
Btw, FB, i have a z400 not a banshee, i wish i had a banshee. BR>
I got two pictures from the spill i took..
Doughnuts
If you look at the center just to the right of it, you can see my tire, that would be my back left tire.
Spill
Ahhhhhhhh, I stand corrected. Well I bet you impress the hell out of them on you Z.BR>
Looks like it was a nasty spill. ouch.=/

Also brought back a little, 3 gallon I think, low profile boat gas tank to try strapping down to the front rack for extra fuel. Need to get a connector and bulb for it. It's made of a lot heavier material than the gas "cans" at Wal-Mart.
I'm still in, but where do we ride this time? Do you want to try Tahuya? Or go back and do the Middle Waddell Loop which is about a 20 mile loop?
I think the boat can (metal one, as I've never figured out how a can can be plastic) should work.
Good morning PSAR
Morning Bear
New ground, old ground it's all the same to me. When you don't know where you are most of the time the trees all look alike. I'm not sayin I was lost mind you cause I've never been lost in the woods. The old horse Flick and I did spend a few days investigating new country one time during a white out blizzard in the Goat Rocks. But she always was one to want to look over the top of a hill.
Yeh, the boat tank is plastic. That's why the can was inside " ". Kind of like having a "glass" of water out of plastic. BR>
Sounds strange to say "a plastic of gas".

My 11 yr old nephew just started Middle school today in Lake Stevens. His mom called me crying. LOL It doesn't seem that long ago when i was babysitting him and picking him up off the bus when he was in Kindergarten. He is really doing a good job of making me feel old. My oldest nephew (16) is a Junior this year. He has taken his written for his drivers license's twice and has failed. He is to much of a computer geek to break out a book and read it for acouple of hours so he can get his license's. Crazy Teenagers!!!

I better clear this up so nobody gets confused. OFC had a dog that he called Mud dog, which was his son, while OFC was over at his brothers, mud dog ran off to chase the neighbors female dog. That neighbor shot at Mud dog and OFC never found him in the woods and the shelters have not recieved mud dog either. There is more to it, but you get the idea. BR>

Middle Waddell works for me. What time and where do you want to meet? I'm up for breakfast if that works for you. May as well see if we can get a few more recliner cabbages out for a day. Anyone want to ride Friday? Not a high speed run.
Kids not wanting a car! What's up with that? I got my first license at age 14, an ag permit, and was hauling wheat to the elevator or hay to the coast on a regular basis. Took the test in a long nose Pete with a grain box behind it. Also let me use the pickup to chase the girls. Throw some bales in the back and the local police thought I was working. Shame on me.

I need to let those know that are going to Coos this weekend. The Toyz family will not be attending...
I'm about as pissed as I can get right now. I inherited a few f@$ked up projects and have to support them this weekend.
I stayed up last night turning wrenches to get the quads ready to go, the wife packed the RV.
I apologize for bailing, I was really looking forward to going.

Nothing like working for a mega corporation.
I don't get paid vacations, but when I want one, I take it.

Bummer Karl. I was looking forward to seeing all the work you've done on your Preddy out on the sand. I empathize with you about working for a corporation sometimes interfering with being able to actually enjoy the fruits of your labor. You guys will be missed.

I am off to bed to get an early start to work so I can bail early to the dunes. Jenna, see you in the morning. Cheech, see you down in Coos Bay! 'Nite PSAR.
Wish I could go with you all! But I'm gonna ride the Rouge River next week (3 nights on the river ) and 2 weeks off work while still unpacking would kill me
(I'm already CRAZY)
Hey RR, you need a day off. Bear and I are meeting friday at the Farm Boy at 10 for breakfast and then to middle Waddell. Be another good day. hr>
Don't think I haven't thought about it, But I am leaving Monday for the Grants Pass area and if I hurt myself my friend I'm going with would KILL ME! hr>
The way we ride your more likely to get hurt driving down there. We promise to be gentle.

I missed all the fun tonight............
You guys going to Coos have a safe trip. Sorry to those that had to cancel, there will be a next time.
Happy B-day WingyDingyDude..........
Well I guess I better try to go to bed, don't want to be to tired and run the big red truck off the road should we get up in the middle of the night.........again
Geesh....... Work 6 days in July and August, come back to work and have to work 48 hours, yuck.
Especially when the freaky yahoos are out and decide to call us out for freaky stuff every hour or so after midnight...
Hope our luck is better tonight img src="i/expressions/face-icon-small-happy.gif" border="0">img src="i/expressions/face-icon-small-happy.gif" border="0">BR>But, I wouldn't change it for nothing img src="i/expressions/face-icon-small-happy.gif" border="0">

Thanks Mark,
I totally agree, it is the coolest job, I wouldn't change it for nothing..
There are drawback and sacrifices, but the benefits and rewards are what make it worth while BR>I'm very fortunate and grateful for what I have.
I say this a lot though, and mean it......I would not want to do a lot of you folks jobs out there.
There are no 40 hour work weeks any more, people are busy, and run themselves ragged having to work so much.
Then they have to try and make things up on the weekend, and try to have time to play.
There are many on here that know what I mean, you all work your tails off.
This is truly a GREAT group of people, as we often say img src="i/expressions/face-icon-small-happy.gif" border="0">BR>
I go to work for 24 hours at a time (48 yesterday and today), and work 72 hours in a week....
But our schedule make it a lot easier to do that than most of your jobs........
I love my time off, as time goes by, I like it even more.......
Usually, if there is going to be "good" calls, I want to be there.
"Good" meaning that we really have to be on our toes and do our best to save/help someone.
In July and August, I missed some of those calls that happen when I should have been working.
And it doesn't break my heart. We had some pretty bad ones on my shift.
Most notable, I would have been working the day the construction worker got ran over by the dump truck. Not a pretty one.
On one hand I'm glad I wasn't there, but kinda wish I was. I only wish I was because we had a brand new rookie out here working for me and he had to see it. I'm sure that he'll remember that one for a while.
I've been around the block and seen much worse in 20 years, and can deal with it. But it's gotta be hard for a guy with less that a year on the job to see that stuff, cause you don't see that every day.
