Ohh.. so you recomend inspecting your fuel containers for wear? I see.. this could be a good idea hr>
I have been wondering about using a portable boat tank as an auxiliary fuel tank on a quad. Since they come in a range of capacities and are specifically built to withstand vibration and shock loads it seems to me they would be ideal for this use. The thickness of the plastic in the tanks I have on our boat is considerably thicker than that in the fuel containers from Wal-Mart or Schuck's. Anyone have any experience using these as fuel carriers on quads?
Mike, your local parts joint should carry 1 1/2 gallon and 3 gallon flats that mount to your racks and interlock. They are a tad spendy, but you can stack stuff on them too!

Mind you an electric pump that plugs in your 12v outlet would be much faster transfer hr>
just use the outboard hose and bulb,,,,install a valve on the end
i had a 12 gallon rectangular tank that would fit on a rack perfectly
it was about 30"x18"x10"
dropped it off the rail of my truck on its corner,,,,full of fuel,,,,,just left a dent,,,,,that eventually popped back out
yeah but 12 gallons is around 90 lbs of fuel man.
If I was 200 pounds, that would make good sense

Mainly the only ones in the construction industry that use nextel are companies with multiple employees.
None of the builders I deal with use nextel.
How do I find out where the next job is? I talk to the builders on the phone. I plan my jobs out 2-3 houses in advance. Doesn't have to be walkie-talkie nextel. I honestly do not want my builders to be able to buzz me with a nextel walkie talkie every time they want to talk to me.

I-5 south to Drain, just 12 miles south of Cottage Grove. Go west to Reedsport then south (left) towards Coos Bay. You will go through Winchester Bay (it's tempting but keep going) About 20 miles south of Reedsport will be the road on your right to Horsfall. It is clearly marked. If you go into North Bend / Coos bay, you have gone too far.
Have fun Jayna, keep the rubber side down and don't go for a swim.
FYI, when you get to the stop light in Reedsport, directly across the street is the Oregon Dunes info center with all kinds of good maps.

FYI - If you get there the night before, you can stay at the casino for free. Makes a good time if you get there early enough to go in and have a few drinks and play some cards. Cheech won some $$$ on the craps table then bought drinks for us...
If we get out of here early enough, we will head to the casino Wednesday night and move into our sites Thursday morning.
If you go past Horsfall into North Bend, keep on the main drag and bear left (there's main street that takes you right). You'll drop down along the railroad tracks and the casino is maybe a mile down the road, you'll see the lights.

Been there, done that. They'll also send their shuttle out to the campground to get you and bring you back.
If you like oysters, there is an oyster farm (Clausen Oysters) just a mile off the road to North Bend. Just past the road to Horsfall, as you're heading south, take your first left after the small bridge, it's a mile down on your left. Small oysters are $6.00 a dozen!

Well, the repair on the predapuss just got spendy... looks like the starter kept engaged while the motor was running and burnt up the one-way, couple gears, flywheel teeth and a few bushings. Parts are ordered and will be installed in short order. Just gotta figure out why the starter kept engaged...
Had a few times prior to the build where switching it from the off position to the run position it bumped the starter. However, that only happend when it was warm. Might be the starter button making enough contact to throw the solinoid and make it not retract.

Found one with 19k miles on it... has a 330 CAT and Allison 6 speed. Kinda funky gear selector... electric gear selector. The one shown in the picture is kinda close. The one I'm getting is a 37' with a kitchen/living room slide. Beaver makes a nice coach.
Just have to figure out how much my current trailer is worth and sell it.

As far as FT gear I have a set of American racers front and back pretty well used on Zuki/Honda bolt pattern, also have a set of unmounted Kings
I also have a front sway bar for Zuki/Honda without rezzies.

what would be dam smoot is to make the top open up butterfly style and have some supports and you could have a whole stage on top of it and have the band come up on the lift from inside

just another kick in da nutz in my life...
went to change the oil in the trike, f'ing right side case cracked. Drain plug was stripped, drilled it out and went to use an easy out, easy out broke off.........plug should only torque to 14 ft pounds got a a chisel...... tapping the plug around, snapped the weak side of the plug area of the case BR>
found a right case half on e-barn for $40.00 shipped BR>

Great ride today. Started with good food at the "Farm Boy" just off I-5 at exit 95. Bear 4570, Chuck and RealtorRider led the way and I followed all over the place. Put on quite a few miles and Chuck got his new Suzuki somewhat broke in. Nice ride.
Got home, walked the dog, ran thru the rain locker and caught up in here. TooMany is upgrading for sure. Paint me a little green. DM is gonna hot rod an Elantra! If it works out I may have to do some "adjusting" to SWMBO's car. It seems to have quite a bit of pep as it is, more would be fun.

BTW this is the OFC secret for oil drainplug removal.. Take a dremel with an abrasive disc and cut a slot for a flat screwdriver of the large size.. if you cut it good and deep you can get good torque on that baby.

It was a nice ride, but my butt is dragging. I had a ball riding SWMBO's 250. I had forgotten how much fun that thing is to ride. Steers easier than my 4X4, is narrower and rides softer and has more than enough power to handle anything at Capitol Forest. I must have been nuts when I gave it up to her to, "Upgrade?".

Good Morning PSAR,
Man I'm going to be dragging azz today. Went to the Kasey Kahne/ Tony Stewart benifit race last night and didn't get home till midnight. up at 4:00 Am and off to work.
The place was packed and Tony used up that sprint car on the first lap of the heat race. He ran her into the fence at full noise going into turn 3. Rung his bell and was done for the night.

CB doesn't have it in stock and said it would be 10 business days. EPS will only sell it by the case for 1oh9dollars but can get it in 2 bus days. Still shopping. Might have to just stick with 50/50 mix I have been using and try it next time.

The best quality for the price are the costco ones that are 10x20. They are the sturdiest steel frame and at $160 they come with 3 side panels and a door panel. Could buy 2 and sit them end to end.

The Home Depot in The Dalles, Or. had some of the bigger ones last spring. Don't recall seeing them here in the Seattle area but you might give them a call.

A man owned a large farm in Saskatchewan. The Provincial Wage and
Hour Department claimed he was not paying proper wages to his help.
And they sent an agent out to interview him.
"I need a list of your employees and how much you pay them," demanded
the agent.
"Well, there are my hired hands. One has been with me for four years;
the other for three. I pay them each $600 a week, plus free room and
board. The cook has been here for 18 months, and I pay her $500 a
month plus free room and board. Then there's the half-wit that works
here about 18 hours a day. He takes home $10 a week and I buy him a
bottle of bourbon every w eek to keep him going," replied the farmer.
"That's the guy I want to talk to; the half-wit," said The agent.
The farmer said, "You,re talking to him."

Southbound on I-5 today and in the Northbound lanes I saw a smaller motor-home pulling a two axle trailer with an aluminum fishing boat, about 16', and a rack above the boat. This rack had three sport quads setting crosswise on it.
The quads were really close to the boat but from the quick look I got it appeared the builder had put camper jacks at each corner of the upper rack. Must be able to jack the quads up to launch the boat. Not too difficult to visualize ways to do this and with the quads as low as they were it would be about like loading them on a cross rack on the back of a pickup. Maybe even a little lower as it appeared the axles were drop center as the boat was down close to the road.
Anyone ever seen a set up like this? Kind of interesting.

Good Morning.
Hey Randy, how has Julie been? I haven't seen no updates on her lately. I hope everything is going ok.
Everyone have a good 3 day weekend.
I wish i could go camping but i would rather be at home resting and getting my collarbone to heal quickly. I'm back at work next week working 40 hours again. This week i have only put in 16 hours. I will just be sitting around getting a tan as Justin will be doing yard work and cutting fire wood.

In the spinzone its popular belief that if you have a banshee and can doo burnouts and dougnuts and wheelies you will impress chicks.
Hope you feelin better..
LOL
I guess i didn't impress anybody because it was so dusty they couldn't see me. LOL I think i was on my fifth doughnut when i started doing the wheelie. There was 8 riders total and only 2 where sitting right there watching me. They didn't know i crashed until the dust settled and they saw me starting to get up and trying to push my quad back over on all fours, but i couldn't because of my collarbone. I don't know if i told you guys but i did bend my tierod pretty good. It looks basically like a U. The handlebars are also bent. Both are easy fixes. My bro already got the tie-rods($20 a set) and he is going to replace this weekend. Oh later that night the guys were calling me Turbo, so i guess i did impress them. LOL

OK so heading north on Hwy 9 across the valley. go thru the light and on the left there is a couple big piles of dirt out in that field that looks like a mocycle jump? That looks BIG.. first attempt better be a good attempt or its gonna fockin hurt and cost allotta money

SWMBO has her tentative schedule for this month. Subject to change as the nurse that was hired and went thru orientation failed to show up for his first shift and has not been heard from since. What is going on with people that they do things like this? OK, rant off. BR>
Who is up for a ride next Thursday or Friday? Gotta get back to the trails, got the bug bad. Looks like the weather is going to cooperate and the gas prices are dropping so there are few excuses not to ride.
After watching Bear4570 zip around on that 250 the other day I'm thinking I need to stop by RMC and see what is available in a 4WD 250 or thereabouts with IRS and locker on the front. Is such a critter available. I'm not brand loyal but don't want anything from China. Nuff smart folks and experience in this group to pay attention to the advice.

When I broke my femur, I asked that. I was told not to increase calcium intake, because it could cause problems.

NOTE! That gas was carried in a one gallon Delo 400 jug. Oil eats thru those things, so I imagine gas would faster.
