TP has left the building.
We had a good ride and then some BBQ bacon cheese burgers and brew. TP's probably going to start calling me wrong wayI kept taking him to dead endsAfter showing him around the trails right off the property we rode into Walker and then I tried to follow him. The 250EX is fun on the tight and technical stuff but it just to slow on anything you can get up to speed on. I'm going to need alot more bike than the 250 to keep up with TP on the trails he hauls azz on the 440EX Hope to do it again some time and maybe get a few more PSAR members up for a Get together/Ride & BBQ.

Josh, throw that piece of sh!t carb away!
Go to trengaracing.com and get the 30mm flat slide carb. You won't believe the difference it makes!
If you have an after market pipe and silencer on it you shouldn't even have to rejet.
Throw some new reeds on it while you're at it!
Oh, and take out the baffle that is in the gas cap. It sucks gas faster than the stock one will allow!

Well sounds like everyone has had a decent weekend img src="i/expressions/face-icon-small-happy.gif" border="0"> Got my quad back home looks like it may have leaned out img src="i/expressions/face-icon-small-blush.gif" border="0"> oh well..............................Another one Bites the Dust img src="i/expressions/face-icon-small-tongue.gif" border="0">BR>DJ tore down the blaster & it toasted the ports, blew them babies right away img src="i/expressions/face-icon-small-shocked.gif" border="0"> chunks in it NICE!! So he says he's putting it back to stock form LMAO he'll hate that after the 1st ride on it LOL , he's wanting to paint the frame & swinger,a arms,hubs so might look into getting him some PC work done locally we'll have to see otherwise he'll just have to bomb can it haha
Went & checked out some new/used double & triple wides today MAN they are nice!!!! And so is thier price Ran into somone looking for a truck & they just happend to have 3 quads that they will NEVER ride img src="i/expressions/face-icon-small-shocked.gif" border="0"> HMmmm we're thinking on that one!! We'll have to wait & see for now!!

I did get alot done this weekend. The tile floor is finished and the new wallpaper installed. Just have to re-install the cabinet and tile the counter top, put the sink in and it's a functioning bathroom again. Then it's on to the master bedrrom.

So.......
This procedure and terminology are new to me, so please bear with me..

Since the compression on the LT took a dive, sounds like I need to....

1 - Pull the cylinder head

2 - get it bored to the next oversize

3 - get a new piston to fit the oversize bore


So, assuming I am correct.......
Does anybody have any recommendation on where I can get this thing bored down this way????

Then I just gotta hope I can get it all back together img src="i/expressions/face-icon-small-happy.gif" border="0">

Sean- before you go nuttz on the lil beast, it might be sompin as simple as a blown head gasket.

Take your time smokeater, lol, lil bebe steps brother. If the head gasket looks good, you could be looking at a set of reeds, or maybe a rering.

What all did Jack do? just port and clutch? did he reassemble with new parts, ie piston, rings.........if he did do that, did u give the lil racer a few minutes to let the new rings seat?

Just a couple of thoughts.

you will want to get the jug measured first, you might not need a bore at all.

when going to an oversize bore, measure, buy piston and rings, then send new piston with jug to get bored.

I have the final word on the "rules" on this site. Its a tough and often unpleasant position to be in at times but someone has to do it and I try to be fair and reasonable. I try because I care about all of you and its important that everyone be treated with respect.

In this case, Raptoryfn660r did the right thing. People affiliated with a dealership are not allowed to sell anything nor are they permitted to even disclose that they work for a dealer. Why the latter? Because once people know where he works they will want prices which then puts him in the awkward position of potentially having to violate the forum rules. Rules are there for the good of both sides. We don't want someone to get themselves into a position where they can no longer enjoy the forums.

I stand behind my moderators. All of them have been fair and do a great job. I'm sure you will agree as many of you are the first to contact them when you need help when you find a bad thread. They are always there for you, so you know how lucky we are to have them.

None of the moderators deserve to be harassed for doing their job. NOR WILL IT BE TOLERATED.

Wildturkey how's things going for you guys?? Say if you or anyone is interested we have some friends that have a flatbed trailer for sale, it's about 13' long I think 7 -7.5 wide(holds 4-6 if ya fit em right) NEW wood on it, NICE trailer, we even thought of getting it but we are looking into an enclosed one instead He wants $500 for it probably could talk him down 50 or so!! It's Kurt he was camped next to us in the big motorhome, he got a bigger one so he has this one to get rid of, he also has a 25' class A motorhome for $4K it's a RUNNER!!!!! He just upgraded to bigger on that also!!

MB guess might have to go thru Hetricks if I decide to do that, actually gonna order up a set of new rear wheels here in a minute so we don't have to break down the paddles for the race the 11th!!!
I'm also looking into getting another set of rears for the MOD for this summer but we will see here shortly img src="i/expressions/face-icon-small-happy.gif" border="0"> Ooops not supposed to talk abut that img src="i/expressions/face-icon-small-blush.gif" border="0"> I have a short memory LOL

As I am uncharted territory here and have no idea what to do, I'll take all the thoughts I can get.

First, whatcha mean by "jug" ????

Reeds - It looked good when I pulled the reed block and looked at it.

Head gasket - that is obviously the gasket between the cylinder head and the motor correct ???

bore - if it needs it ( I don't know how to tell if it does or not), I should look at the piston size, order the next oversize up, then take it to get bored.


Jack didn't do much but go through and take a gander and adjust/fix the clutches. minor stuff since the motor was already done.

Thanks a Bunch for the help MB, kinda show how mechanically declined I am img src="i/expressions/face-icon-small-happy.gif" border="0">BR>But I am trying to learn.......

Want to try and get 'er fixed by this weekend, but only have today and Thursday available..

jug is another name for cylinder

see your repair facility to have the cylinder measured. this will ensure you purchase a piston of the correct size.

Most of this is my fault,,,,,,for not acting sooner that is.

Warnings and heads ups were issued as far back as 2004. I had no idea i would be hung out to dry on this one,,thanks MB. Most dealers last about 10 seconds here doing what you did.

What the public sees and what the mods see are two different things. If the general public could see the whole picture,,,,things would be a whole lot clearer.

Like i said about a year ago on this very thread,,,,use e-mail, phone, msnchat or whatever to conduct atv type business,,,,not this medium,,,,,its that simple. Had this been done a year ago,,,,,we would not be here today.

Our lonely massive thread is now in the limelight and should be for sometime,,,just what we all needed.

And as far as Raptory goes,,,,,he is a stand up guy. All one has to do is a little research on him to learn how helpful and dedicated he is to making these forums and personal memberships run smoothly. Thanks for all your help Chet.

Most of the responses that occurred yesterday are pretty typical when one of the forum rules is broken when there is a dealer in the thread and its not worth me getting upset over and starting the name calling procedure like some of the members did.

I have gotten to know bing and OFC over the years now and going by those two I would say your a pretty good group to hang with.

Its tough bein at the top. I know this in everything i do. when your at the top you stand out and your an easy target. Its like with my bowling team. we have been the same clowns for the last 7 years. we are true to our beings.. we go bowling to bullchit and have a good time and throwin the ball is secondary to havin a good time. Well it just so happens this year my team is throwin down some major asswhoopins. and so now some of the other teams complain about us being to loud or being to obnoxious, or our antics are distracting, or whatever it is.. When your Number 1 you get singled out and everyone has to pick on ya.. Don't Hate the player Hate the Game This year my team has really come into its own. we play well together and have fun. and so it takes us 15 minutes longer to finish our 3 games than the other boring teams. they whine about that. we like to draw out the agony of our opponents and sit at out table and drink beer and bullchit but NOOO its gotta be all rush rush. so i guess they want us to be at the approach 2 at a time. Its so G A Y. So when your a top team you have to act like it i guess. Maybe being at the top aint so good.. you get chastized for bein true

Hey all, long time no chat. I've barely looked at the forum since the legislative session started. Good news on the legislative front. All of the bad bills (noise ordinances, etc.) are dead. We have a few good bills moving: statewide ORV trail database, allowing local governments to have ATVs on their roads (there was some confusion about last year's law that needed to be cleaned up). It looks like both of these bills will pass.

Also, it may have been posted previously, but the Washington ATV Association annual fun run in happening April 1 & 2 at Capitol Forest. I'm trying to round up riders and sponsors. If you have any ideas, let me know. In addition, I'm trying to line up a few ATV-riding legislators to attend. We have a good group building in the legislature who support our sport and it would be nice to get them to a large gathering like this one. You can get registration information at Washington ATV Association's website.. The early registration deadline is March 10.

I'm plan on taking the Vinson out for it's first ride of the year on Saturday. There is a WAATVA work party to get ready for the fun run at Capitol Forest. At least I'll be outside on a quad instead of in my office or a hearing room at the Capitol.

To change the stroke the crank has to be offset ground on the rod journal or replaced with a stroker crank.

A longer Rod will infact increase torque by allowing the piston to dwell longer at Top Dead Center.
The long rod requires a special piston with a different piston pin location to maintain proper deck height but it will not change the stroke.

If the crank throw is not longer, then no change in stroke and no changed in cc's. All a different length rod does is change the leverage of the piston to crank geometry.

ok ...Question for ya...our blaster is having issues...it will idle it will rev some times but for the most part it just dies or bogs right off idle...any ideas...could this be a TORS related problem?
