Good Morning PSAR..welp nice waking up at 8...Well told my dad I have a lot of packing to do and I dont wanna break in my quad down at the dunes so I skiped school today and starting to pack now and in a hr or 2 going to go break in my quad yippie!!! yay for 10-15min rides then let the engine cool down 4-5 times...hrm so yeah im leaving tommorow morniing at 7 and headin down. When the snow level is below 2500 feet, then Capitol Forest works. Capitol Peak is 2500+ feet tall. I usually snow ride out at Canyon River in western Mason County and eastern Gray Harbor County.

Jolene, I'm sure a spot would be great, but remember that they have that 40 ft. Palace and a dually crew cab. Normally when I've gone to sandlake with Marci and Josh we've made the run to the treeline and camped out there. I think Marci said there were going to be some people from Sandlake duners there too (Blue and Orange Flags)

I can't remember what you told me to try to help the situation with the LT80.
Something about the pilot jet I think.....
It's a Keihin 20mm carb... I believe a 128 main jet and 58 pilot jet
The problem............
It runs pretty good at higher RPM's
It won't run at idle.
When I let off the throttle, it just slows down and dies.
I can pull up the choke slightly and then it gets enough fuel to keep running
I've cleaned the carb thoroughly......
I've tried adjusting the idle screw....
I've adjusted the needle clip down..Then put it back up at the top.
Anyway, any ideas would be great. THANKS A BUNCH
off to the hardware store I go for materials to make a couple chain tensioners for the LT img src="i/expressions/face-icon-small-happy.gif" border="0">

*Long Post on my FANTASTIC DAY*
Well lets see here where do I start the day off with waking up to really strong windstorm hitting our island branches and trees falling everywhere...so I decide to go out and check teh status of the roads...as i was walking out with my 15mil candle power spotlight at 530 this morning i get a call on my cellphone from a buddy who is bringing me with them to the dunes to sand lake...that the trailer got a stick through the sidewall on one of the tires and they gota go pick up a tire from in town...as I went to the store which is the info center on our island which we have 1 store and 1 resturant...anyways 5mins went by and they got a call saying our dock sunk...and there was like shock in everyones faces...so people tried to go see the dock but there were 10 trees blocking one road...about 12 trees the road I live on going towards the dock and then there were 2 trees down another road so all roads were blocked...so finaly the fire dept. and elec company got some trees cleared and man the dock was screwed its almost all the way in the water...so as the day went on the store is almost out of gas and out of the general food like eggs bread milk as well as the resturant which I work at...and the boat isnt expected to be going for a week at least...maybe more if the float dock which is at the bottom of the ocean is cracked in anyway...and if it is the float dock costs over a mil...so it will be 2-3 weeks uhm yeah get the story...so ill update on my situation as i get ahold of peeps laptops with wireless satalite hehe... oh yeah no first time duner here this weekend >peace out scott

Plus, we are starting to travel a lot for racing, many trips over East and a couple to California and Utah. I want a truck with some sort of warranty since I'll be racking up the miles.
I love my truck and still like that body style better, but gotta go newer...

This is a post to brag about my quad. I don't give it a very good life, but it takes care of me. It starts when it should. It comes out of any idiot hole I force it to go into. It jumps like no tomorrow. It runs neck and neck with yfz's with little kids on them. It very rarely knocks me off, for a roll reversal. Oh and did I mention the woolie that was almost sign to sign at the sandlake beach? If the place had less people, I know it would let me go sign to sign.
I guess I want you people to know I really like my 450R.

Well I didn't get to ride the 06 Honda. It had a broken spring, for the compression release. It was found and fixxed last night, but I missed that boat. I wish I would have rode it, because he is way faster flat track racing. He is about 165 pounds is all, though.
Not being able to compare those 2, I would rather ride a Honda.

Evening' PSAR
Julie and I had a blast down at SL yesterday Met up with Ron and Kym and Jayna ,Josh and Marci and Bill. Even ran into an old Sprint Car Racing bud. Hope I'm not forgetting anyone. Went for a real fun ride with them, met some new folks and just had a all around great time. The 700R ran real well and was tons of fun to ride, hill climb and race at the hill Lots of friendly people stopped to check it out and ask questions. The weather was perfect, I wish I could have hooked up with TP and gone for a ride with him. I did get to BS him a little before we headed home BR>
As always I look forward to the next dune trip and meeting up with good folks for good riding and great times

Mr. 700R sent me a special map and Val picked up the 9 volt battery I needed, it's sitting right here in front of me now ready to download. I'll be tearing into the 700 this weekend to install the PCIII hr>

I assume you're talking about the Spring Fling Poker Run at Middle Wadell, you're looking at 600 - 800 riders, don't know how fast you'll be going the first day unless you are one the first ones in the lineup.

The guy happened to be from Gig Harbor and just wanted what his pay off was, Lucky for me it was about 2,500 less than what I could go buy a new one for. He bought it new in May of 05 and only used it 3 times

This is just a safety tip...
but the analally rentetive safety part of me just wants to mention this.
Be careful with the carpet in there. Any spillage or minor leaking of gasoline on the carpet is very dangerous.
Gas does not evaporate as quickly and is obviously not as easy to clean up.
The vapors and fumes will linger for a long time, and it only takes a little.
A little fire hazard obvioulsy, but the real hazard is breathing and lung problems.
Without going into all the details, the lingering gas vapors can cause real problems with your lungs and breathing.
In 15 years I have been on two gentlemen that were working on vehicles in carpeted garages,
They were both overcome by the vapors and were found dead, from relatively small amounts of spilled gas soaked into the carpet.
Again, just a safety message, not trying to be anything other than that.......

thats why only half of the garage is carpeted, plus the carpet and the roller stool don't like each other, so the quad side is concrete.

When the snow level is below 2500 feet, then Capitol Forest works. Capitol Peak is 2500+ feet tall. I usually snow ride out at Canyon River in western Mason County and eastern Gray Harbor County.

Trails closed, roads open in the winter at Capitol. I know where Canyon River is (and a bunch of other places out this way too) and when you wanna go let me know. I will either accompany you or give you a map and good directions.

I can't remember what you told me to try to help the situation with the LT80.

It's a Keihin 20mm carb... I believe a 128 main jet and 58 pilot jet
The problem............
It runs pretty good at higher RPM's
It won't run at idle.
When I let off the throttle, it just slows down and dies.
I can pull up the choke slightly and then it gets enough fuel to keep running
I've cleaned the carb thoroughly......
I've tried adjusting the idle screw....
I've adjusted the needle clip down..Then put it back up at the top.
Anyway, any ideas would be great. THANKS A BUNCH

Well was getting ready for the trip this morning and was having a bud break in my bike as i built jumps in the field for the other 250...and the bike just died...we checked gas and had to refill it and we keep trying to kick it over and nothing were getting really good compression as it turns over every time but its just not starting...switched the spark plug with a new one but its not getting any spark...so anyone have some ideas on what to check first? i hate electrical...one thing i truly suck at except for car sound systems hehe well any help is good help hehe off to work my shift ill be here around 9 hopefully if its not busy...peace out

It actually has a 50 pilot jet in it, and the other carb I have has a 52.
I'm not sure if there is a 51, but I'm gonna try the 52 in the morning
since I already have that one.
We'll se how it does I guess, not that I'll be able to tell much other than
if it doesn't die.
Gonna try to do some more research on line tonight, try to read up on
the workings of a carburetor (like what the main jet does, what the pilot jet does, what moving the needle clip does, etc etc).
See if I can't learn myself a little bit, not likely, but I'll give it a go img src="i/expressions/face-icon-small-happy.gif" border="0">

Speaking of Florence, We have reserved site # H384 for Sat. April 15th - Tue. April 18th.
This is a full hook-up site (power, water and sewer). It is right next to the dunes access.
We are not going to be able to make it down there at that time. If some wants this spot please le me know. I have already paid for the site, so for $57.00 it can be yours.
I have all the reservation papers that you would need for the spot.
Let me know if you are interested.
There are no other Saturday nights available during the month of April.

We just picked the spots that we had last time.
We didn't want to be in front of the fire pit or too close to the bathrooms.

We had a great weekend at Florence. I love that new LTR 450! DS was runnning the best that she ever has also. Left my son at home, scared of the cold and had 2 bikes to choose from with no competition over which one I chose to ride. That wont happen again! I dont think Ryan will ever let his hands off of that LTR after he rides it.
Thinking of some of the Goldendale races now.. Hmmmmm.

That makes sense, you can haul quads in a horse trailer but you can't haul horses in a toy hauler or on the back of a flatbed, smart move
